Cleaning windows

I have had the most difficult time trying to clean the inside of my windows. No matter what I did I always ended up with streaks. I honestly thought that something had gotten on them that I couldn't get off. I searched everywhere looking for what I was doing wrong. The best results I got was from cleaning the window several times always using a new paper towel until I was happy and doing it several times a week. At this point I was also carrying around cleaner and towels. Most nights I would get on the road and see the streaks. We'd get to a gas station and I'd clean them again. After all this frustration I saw on here I believe someone mentioning a towel Pure-Sky Window Glass Cleaning Cloth - JUST ADD Water No Detergents Needed – Streak Free Magic Ultra Microfiber Window Polishing Towel - for Windows, Glass, Mirror and Screen - Leaves no Wiping Marks https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075Y2LG8V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_4.TLCb6MSYPH9
I ordered one.

And I remember seeing a guy on YouTube using a Mr Clean magic eraser. So Thursday morning I used the magic eraser with water. I honestly saw a film after it and felt I made a mistake. I then used the towel with just water. The results were amazing.

I use Perfect Glass as I have had the same issues as you. I don't think most glass cleaners today are that good, they actually suck. I'm actually a X Detailer and I have had issues over the last few years trying to find a good glass cleaner. Pefect Glass works very well and I barely ever get any streaks unless I use a crappy towel.
I use Terry cloth towels as most microfiber towels I use for windows streak no matter what glass cleaner I use. Old school towels I find work better on glass. Also I use no ALL to wash my towels free and clear no scents no fabric softener.

I use nothing but distilled water and a micro cloth inside, or on the plastic. Outside, I use RainX window cleaner. I don't recommend the RainX inside because of the issues you've found with residual cleaners -- and RainX is the worst when it comes to that due to it's "sheeting" additives. I use it because it's great for rain/snow/ice, but ho boy, the 'smudge-rubbin' during application!! It's a pain to polish, but it sure helps in bad WX.
The visibility is worth the effort.

A buddy has owned an auto glass business for 40+ years and I follow his advice with good success and it easy and pretty cheap. Sprayway glass cleaner that you can get cheap ($8 for 4 large cans!) at Sam's Club, or BJ"s, and buy the CHEAP tri-fold paper towels like you would have in a dispenser in a public bathroom. He said never use good quality paper towels because they are too soft, use the cheapest ones you can find because they are slightly abrasive and clean glass better. Again available really cheap by the case at Sam's or BJ's. Works like a charm.

Just wanted to update anyone who read this post. As of today I have yet to clean my windows and they still look amazing. I use a lot of air freshner and thought that would end up on the windows but I can't see it. I did my work truck the same way. The only difference was that I used paper towels and water 2 times after the magic eraser. They turned out great as well. I just missed a few spots. It's a new truck and I'm getting used to getting in and cleaning it still.
