I'm writing this just to add some additional clues to this issue which apparently is rather common. I read I'm not the only one experiencing this "mix" of apparently not related problems, but thanks to some users on the forum like PghRegi, I started to consider the real potential root cause. I own my 2018 DD GT with the 3.6 pentastar from about 1 month and soon after buying it I experienced those symptoms, including noticeable misfiring. The EBD codes were P2097 (post catalyst fuel trim system being too rich in bank 1) and P0303 (cyl. 3 misfire). I was able to drive the car for hundreds of miles at cruising speed (75/80 mph) with no major issues other than sometimes the annoying feeling of misfiring, and I made it safe home from the trip I was in. I went to a local MIDAS for diagnostic and they said it was just plugs and coil packs. After some additional advice here on the forum, I decided to only try to change the plugs, and see if that would improve anything (plugs were likely due as I bought it with 127k miles). It's very interesting to notice that the day I visited MIDAS the stop/start warning light went away on its own, BEFORE getting there. Even more interesting the check engine light went away on its own some times after leaving MIDAS and as well the idle was again smooth, no apparent sign of misfiring. It's been like that for a week or so, the lights never came up again. Yesterday I changed the plugs and I noticed the following: indeed the spark plug in cyl. 3 was horrible, see the picture, comparing to another of the plugs I removed which looks used but not that bad. The cyl. 3 was the only one looking like that. Also, both bank 1 (passenger side) VVL solenoids look having a lot of oil seepage, especially when compared to the one in the other bank (see pics.). Now with the new plugs ON, I feel like the idle is not as smooth as in the past few days when it "self-fixed", but still barely noticeable and nothing as bad as it was few weeks ago. Anyway lights are still OFF, no codes from EBD and driving seems smooth and no misfiring. It would be nice to know from some of you guys what's your thoughts on this. I think I'd still try to change both front and back VVL solenoids in few weeks time and hopefully this would be solving every doubt...
