Lug configuration change

You can buy billet adapters with any pattern you want. A little spendy though

 

bump for an old thread. How difficult would this be? What's involved.

 

For the street, I guess that adaptor plates wouldn't be too bad. It tends to give you a slightly frog legged look, depending on wheel offset. Adaptor plates are known to break. Other than that it could get expensive, with custom axles and new discs/drums as needed.

 

That's what I figured. Probably cheaper to just get a set of wheels re-drilled and then seal up the original holes for strength.

I love Mopar, but it sucks how nothing is ever available for the vehicle I have. I've owned 3 mopars and I dealt with the same issues on every vehicle. You find what you want then its not made for your motor or bolt pattern.

 

Unfortunatel it's probably best to just Pick out a different set of wheels

Contact this guy, FRED GOSEKE (pronounced Go-Ski.) He makes billet wheel adaptors. When I was having all those damn Get Screwed Motorsports fitment problems with those friggen' Viper Brakes, Fred was able to make adaptors for the Durango to make them fit.

Be aware, as indicated above, even the best billet adapters break off studs, regardless of who makes them or how good they are. You're going from something designed for 6 down to 5.

I'd find something that does fit. There are hundreds on this site alone. Gotta be something you like.

Drilling extra holes in a set of rims is asking for disaster. It really weakens the wheel webbing in the wheel center.

 

I'm hearing you can buy the rims not drilled for lugs, the problem I see with those, you must be perfect to get the pattern drilled into those or your balance will be off and further problems, if done wrong. You must have a reputable machine shop do this.

Actually the built-in jack has been on my list of wishes for years. You'll notice that F-1 doesn't use them anymore due to weight.

you can get wheel adapters from 6x4.5 to 6x5.5 (chevy/toyota/jeep all use this on some vehicles)

I run 5x4.5-5x5.5 adapters on my Jeep Grand Cherokee, haven't had any problems with shearing lug nuts or anything. I got them from a guy on eBay?I forget which one, but it was like 180 shipped for 4.
