Hi everybody! I have a problem with my Durango (2014 limited hemi awd), after car accident the car does not change gears, it is in neutral all the time, it starts without any problems, I can turn the gear into D or R but nothing happens. Airbags have been blown, not replaced yet and I have info about failure of awd system. I have checked the towing switch (the one in the compartment between front seats) and it is in the correct position. If you have any ideas please help. THX

possible some kind of "guardian" mode to keep vehicle from driving when bags have been deployed?

Yeah. Crash, blown airbags, tranny won't shift into gear, AWD error. Sounds like the car knows it's not safe to drive and that you should take its advice and have it towed somewhere for repair. It's most likely the transmission computer senses that there's a problem with the AWD system, that with that error it is unable to safely control power distribution, and thus won't go into gear.

Did the Durango get towed on a hook or flat bed, if an AWD gets towed with wheels on the ground it DESTROYS the transfer case. If the system wasn't put in neutral (only the hemis have this feature) it probably roached your driveline components.

You should start your own thread because it's unlikely that any of these members will see this post 8 years later.
