Can you make the miles remaining display under 50 miles instead of showing 'Low'?

Too many variables to be exact is the reason for "Low" display. You could see the headline, right? "Motorist stranded in frigid cold when display still read 10 miles to empty...." followed by "Motorist sues automaker...."

Low is the best you'll get I'm afraid...
