I'm looking for some advice on what I might need to do to get my Durango to break into the 13's in the quarter mile. The mods I have done so far seem to work real well together, but I'm not sure what to do next. I have a 02 R/T which seems to loose horsepower because of the transfer case and transmission setup. So far I have added:

1) Kenne Bell Super Charger running 6psi of boost
2) Cold Air intake with K&N filter
3) Fastman throttle body
4) G&S Motorsports headers and dual exhaust
5) Magnaflow Muffler
6) Iridium plugs and good good cap, rotor and wires.
7) Harland Sharp 1.7 rocker arms

Using my Passport G-Timer it logs consistant 14.10's at 97mph. This seems pretty accurate compared to real track runs I have done in other cars.
Got any ideas?

ported heads with different cam. will increas flow and add power. But to get that low you probably wantt to look at rebuilding the engine with beefed up internals. Those Mopar engines weren't designed to handle tha tmuch power in stock form.

I used to have a similar setup to you on my 2000 D, but I was running 10psi boost, a water injection system, cam and heads. My buddy had a cyclone that would run consistent 13.5, and I kept up with him, so I think I was pretty close to that. It all depends on how much money you want to spend. You can always try to get into the 500 club, which right now, I'm calling the $20,000 club.

I have put a drag racing calculator. It's simple but it gives you an idea of what kind of power you're going to need to get into the 13's.

Gears help to, especially on a heavy vehicle like ours. Problem is if you go too far over the top, you loose the streetability.

Hmmm? I'll bet there's a 5 or 4 speed in an old Ram that would bolt up to that 360. Autos are power wasters. It's easier to turn a mainshaft than create power from fluid dynamics. Also, chuck the T case if you're drag racing. No need for 4x4 unless you're dirt track racing?

I guess your right, I should just rip the drivetrain out and start over again. Maybe pull the drivetrain out of my Charger and put it in there? hmmm? But those emission inspection guys would really not like that to much. :naughty:

Hey!

:bugeyed: Does that Charger need a nice warm home down south? No nasty E police here! Just let me know.

What are your 60' times?
Are you spinning at all in the front or rear?
What's your race weight?

Lots of things like short belts and lighter wheels and tires, going on a diet, etc.

More boost with alcohol injection would be my 1st suggestion if you have good traction at the start.
