I agree as I want to see more of mine and the ones taken by the dealership aren’t the greatest. There’ll definitely be a lot of pics on Saturday when I get mine.

It'd be silly if stripes are the major hold up. I'm one of the few out that didn't order stripes but that's because I'm looking at doing something a little unique with my PPF guy. We've got to do a test to see how it looks, but may have the matte PPF added as a stripe on it.

 

Not silly at all. From what I understand the stripes get installed at an outside vendor, not at the factory. If that's the case it would explain some of the delays with striped vehicles.

 

Went to pick mine up today told them not to was did a walk around notice a scratch in the rear bumper that's all the way to the plastic they offered to just touch it up I told them 🤬🤬🤬 I want a new bumper new paint and they will have to replace the strips I had to push back my appointment for oof and ceramic coating and now the bumper paint will have to cure for 30 days before I can get it worked on so I guess I can just get the rest done till then.. going to take them another week to fix.. I took one key home and told them to call me when it's done

 

Having fun setting up the profiles and settings today. Schedule for the Bondurant Experience in a couple of weeks. Found one bolt cover missing from the passenger door handle. Other then that all has been good so far.

Nice pairing! Congrats on delivery of the DDHC! Have you taken any pictures in the sun with the door open such that we can see how the Octane Red exterior and Demonic Red interior work together?

 

really scrutinize your new Durango's before you take them home...the QC leaving the factory is weaksauce

The Demonic Red and Octane Red looks a bit better in real life. Was hoping they would be a little deeper red, but not as red as I feared they were going to be. Still on the fence about having the seats re-dyed.

 

I would leave it alone. You can always dye them later but you might find you love them within a few week/months. It might depend on how many compliments you get on the colors. We have tons of compliments on our red interior though we have a black DD.

I agree with Tin. Leave it as is. Congrats again on a beautiful truck. But that's coming from another Octane Red owner...lol

Since we are talking about leather interiors here.........WHY IS THE LAGUNA LEATHER NOT OFFERED IN BLACK!!!!!!! I cannot think of a good reason.

 

I would have liked a shade of brown, like the one available on the Citadel. Or at least it looks brownish. I posted in another thread, the Kia Telluride has 4 different color options for their leather interiors. A shame.

My vehicle is pushed back to April 1,4th push back.no stripes. SRT says they have high standards for QC?

 

I am hearing to many QC issues for a $94,000 vehicle.Cadillacs hardly any problems.If I can make 10,000 on this car if it shows up,will then get a new escalade.

I still need to pick mine with a fine toothed comb but so far I have a paint issue. On my hood, 2 spots have hardened clear coat drops, one on each side.

seems easy enough to wet sand down.

Since the dealeship i'm using, only uses a brush machine, I'll be prepping the paint. Need to Decide if I do it myself or just hire out as all my pads are shot.

 

I will say though, the 150 mile trip to bring it home was a blast. Didn’t do too bad on MPG, was averaging 15.1 @ 75 MPH.

it definitely pulls when you get on it though. Was trying the different settings to see how it felt but if you ever need a more tamer beast than anything, ECO is definitely it. My wife feels comfortable driving it in that mode.

 

I wonder how many owners are going to be a little disappointed ...all the hype/waiting/expecting some asgardian chariot...only to find its just a fast loudish SUV

 

My only disappointment has been when I needed to take my foot off the gas petal. Too many cops and slow movers in the left lane.

 

Forgot to add, I was pleasantly surprised at the sound while cruising. Was worried it may get a little loud but it tamed down till you hit the gas petal and let the beast roar to life.

I do want a louder supercharger whine, from the Challenger/Charger Hellcat I know adding a CAI will do that. I think that’ll be something for mine to assist with that sound.

Does anyone know if there is a way to track the rail progress after it's shipped?

 

Your dealership should have an idea when it should arrive at the main rail depot before being trucked to your dealership. Mine had all that info plus estimated dates of when it would arrive by truck. It just ended up coming 4 days earlier than the time frame they expected to receive it.

 

Thought I would post the two things found that needed addressed from the dealer so far. A missing bolt cover behind the passenger door handle and carpet cut short. Both items have been ordered from service. Will replace carpet when it’s in.
