Any issues with your SRT?

I had the "dents" along the roofline which SRT group determined were not repairable. I asked for a new truck but got an Appearance Service Contract for 5yrs instead. I had already purchased one so ended up with a $550 refund.

At the dealer now with one horn not sounding and an unknown oil leak. They are saying the oil pressure switch was loose and leaking. They have tightened it and cleaned up the bottom end and are running it to make sure that was it.

And the issues with missing Transmission settings which should be taken care of with the BCM flash. I reminded the advisor twice since none of her updates included it.

Anyone else?

For about 3 months now I have had my trans slip during the 3rd to 4th shift first thing in the morning. That only occurred if I drove it without backing up to start the day. If I had to engage R, it would slam into reverse and the 3rd to 4th shift was smooth.
Finally got it in to a dealer (called 3 and all of them gave me appts 3 weeks down the road) and, after 10 days, was told the front seal had leaked. This was replaced.
Well, 1 week later and the issue is back. Never really went away but it has gotten more noticeable since the repair. I will be dropping it off this Wednesday for a 2nd try.

My only issues after 8 months and a little over 8K miles are issues that existed upon delivery (I don't recall if I posted them earlier or not). 1) the tailgate did not latch properly when auto-closing; I refused delivery, they fixed it, it happpened again, they fixed it again; better this time, but occasionally if on a steep hill or if jacked up it won't automatically latch properly all the time. I am over it. A simple push will latch it.

The "SRT" emblem on the steering wheel doesn't light up. Never did. I only learned on this forum that it should. I am not going to bring it in to dealer for that, but may mention it if I have to bring it in for other things. And, finally, similar to CaptMoe's issue above (but different). Upon initial startup, when going from reverse to drive, it sometimes takes several seconds for the torque converter/tansmission to engage. If I am too eager with the gas pedal, it will rev and then BANG into engagement. I have learned not to be too eager. It usually only will do it the first time going into Drive.....

And yes, the paint does look like it was applied with a roller......overall, though, very happy with the vehicle.....

same with me...my 18 will sometimes lurch at first drive more than the amount of throttle I put in and it feels like the trans...I laughed at the paint roller.....My roof paint has so many little particles under the paint....as if the booth was in the desert during high winds....I think most of us had 70k price point expectations for fit and finish...but that all goes away when you tap the srt button twice say beatlejuice and hit those paddles...

Thanks guys, I read through this thread before going to bed last night. Then I dreamt I was driving my DDSRT and everything was going wrong, most notably no power at all, and everyone was passing me. o_O

Hard to say at this point. I'm really at their mercy. Originally the valve body was on back order. But after I got SRT involved it arrived a couple of days later. According to my advisor, this part had to be replaced first in the hopes that it would solve the issue.
It did not. I am now scheduled to go back to leave the truck so that a new trans can be ordered. They have been good about providing a loaner so being without transportation isn't the issue. But I am having a hard time understanding the parts delay on a part that is widely used around the world by multiple manufacturers.

Valve bodies control firmness of the shift and the shift point, among other things. Since the shift point changes with the SRT mode, that's apparently now controlled by electronic actuators in the valve body. Not sure the SRT modes change the firmness though. Delaying the shift point will make it more noticable even without making it firmer. My 1972 Ranchero has about 400HP and a C6 automatic with a shift kit in the valve body. It will break the tires loose shifting from 1st to 2nd around 50MPH if I stay on the gas until then. The shock sheared off the input shaft once.

20k miles. Strut top mount and tie rod end.

Being replaced under warranty. SRT had to get involved as the dealership never could find the problem.

They also updated all the vehicle software as it was many revisions behind the current. They have me in a brand new sxt Durango till it’s done

Not sure if this is an "issue" or not. Standard black interior...at less than 10K miles I noticed that the outer seat bolsters (the leather part on the seat/butt portion, not the seat back) are starting showing some wear. Driver's side and passenger side, though of course more on the driver's side. Also, not sure if the Alcantera part is starting to stretch a little and not look new and tight. FYI I am 5'8" and barely 150 pounds (soaking wet), so my featherweight bod should not overstress the material....

Maybe not the best pic in the world, but this shows the wear at around 10K miles. Compare this to my Z06 leather (3LZ) seats, which look like new at 18K miles. Maybe it's because with the vette you lower your self into the seat, and lift yourself out. In the durango you just sort of slide in and out of the seat....and i put some pressure on the seat bolster as I get out....

Just hit a little over 16k miles and got a code for the 02 sensor. Take it to their dealer and they tell me there is a code for the thermostat. Ended up getting the thermostat replaced and an oil change while I’m at it. Not the most reassuring start to ownership on a 60k car. Why cant American car makers make reliable cars and stay true to “American made”?

Don't drink the Kool Aid. EVERY car company has issues. They are all made by imperfect humans. I have owned Dodges since 1997, with the exception of a 2006 Hyundai Sonata, and have NEVER had a major issue with any of them. Where American car companies fall short is in customer service. Take your Brand X luxury import to the dealer for your sensor issue and you'll get the white glove treatment which makes you forget about the inconvenience of having to drop your car off for service. I think most people would rather go to the dentist than deal with American car company's service dept.

Nothing to serious....I blew a motor about 1 year after ownership. It has oil starvation due to a faulty oil pump they think and it blew the engine. Nasty experience but SRT has a new motor delivered and installed within three weeks. Pretty quick after their investigation.

Going in this week to have lifters replaced. We now have closer to 25k miles and have had a slight lifter noise at moderate throttle for a few weeks. I finally took it in and had to drive the tech around to replicate the issue but he was able to identify it. You never hear it at full throttle or a very light throttle. Lifters are supposedly on a national back order but my dealership requested them to be expedited. It took about a week and half to arrive but we are now ready to go in for the repair. Funny thing is the Ram1500 loaner we had for a few days while they diagnosed the Durango had the same exact issues. Hopefully in a few days it’s back up and running and feeling stronger.

I've had my 2018 DDSRT for about 5 months, and today the radio crashed/rebooted. Screen went black for about 20 seconds then went through a power up sequence. Anyone else having that issue?
