Just developed an annoying rattle inside the dash, passenger side, in the airbag area. Removed glovebox, but I can't get any higher. Anyone ever have this issue? This truck sucks. 1st and last dodge.

Ours is a '21 GT Plus, and so far, I have not noticed any unusual noises. The only "unusual" things I've noticed are the no heat on Medium seat heaters, and the PITA Auto Stop/Start system occasionally gives a ding and warning light saying Not Ready, although I always remember to turn it off at start-up. Battery tests OK, but it usually goes away after I shut it off, restart and drive it the next time.

VZT:
You have had 2 issues, namely frustration with the remote start requiring a subscription, and now a dash rattle. Not sure how that translates to your statement that the "truck sucks." It's a lease correct, so you can walk away when that concludes. If it's still under warranty, why not let the your dealer handle it?

It's never the vehicle's fault. It's the manufacturer's fault.

Remember that because most everyone should be cool about it.

I don't hate my truck, I love my truck but I hate (well.. more like really really butt hurt pissed) Dodge and their dealerships.

I'll agree 100% with your comment about "F" Uconnect. We grouse about that system here regularly.
We all get frustrated. There are lots of folks here with much worse issues, ie failed lifters eating cams, failing transmissions, etc.

Your last sentence, " Sorry your butthurt, I offended the Durango sheep", says more about you than me.

How many fellow Durango owners have you helped with your 104 posts since 09/21. I'll wager not anywhere near the number I have since 09/04 with my 5,000+.

I have the same rattle on the driver's side too. Only on certain roads I drive, you can hear the rattle. Not all the time. I ripped a part the whole hush panel and didn't come up with any fix. Just listen to the radio louder now... I personally can't complain about my Durango RT. Still puts a smile on my face every time I start it and hit the gas.

Just throwing this out there. With my 10.1" screen, if I lighty tap it I can hear a buzz rattle.
Seems like it comes from the right side of the screen. It does not make noise while driving but @Vztech 's may be worse?
I have had this since new and has not gotten worse.

Look at the bottom of the widshield for the installation holders. They are little plastic wedge clips that hold the windshield during assembly. My Ram had this issue of them rattling and bussing while driving. Fix was to break them off since they are not needed.

I had this issue in my rear passenger door. There was a loose bolt flying around. I'm thinking there could be something else in the front door. The build quality of this vehicle is horrendous. Never again.

Greetings Everybody,

The following might be useful to some of you that have experienced an intermittent buzzing/rattling coming from the drivers-side dash when driving or idling:

I've got a 2014 DD Citadel 5.7 V8, but I wouldn't at all be surprised if this affected other Mopar or RAM models, let alone other makes.

A few years back, I started hearing a really annoying buzzing/rattling sound coming from the driver's side dash. Try as I may, I couldn't localize the source of the sound myself. One day, I happened to have a coworker in the car, and I started bitching about the buzzing while we were driving to a work site. After a couple of minutes of this, dude leaned over, and put one finger lightly on the silver chrome-plastic trim piece surrounding the instrument cluster on the left side. The buzzing immediately stopped. Needless to say, I was dumbfounded; I expended a lot of effort looking for that sound myself, but apparently, my ears weren't good enough- I was way off in my guesses of where the sound was coming from.

So, basically, there's a plastic-chrome trim piece that's clipped to the driver-facing edge of the instrument cluster. Apparently, the tolerances aren't quite right for that plastic piece when it's manufactured, so in the slightest temperature changes, the plastic expands/contracts just enough to become loose enough to rattle/buzz annoyingly while driving or idling. A single piece of clear tape can settle that part down permanently, as well, so could a single tiny drop of super glue. Really dumb problem that was super-annoying, but luckily, there is a very simple fix in this case.

Hope this helps some folks.

OMG. I just figured out what my rattle was. It was the dash cam. I have a little Garmin one and it hides behind the mirror, so didn’t even think to check it. But it had a rattle inside (it’s old) and I can’t tell you how relieved I am to have solved another noise mystery.

I also had an issue with a sound in my Dodge Durango 3.6, 2018, that seemed to come from the dashboard area, which was only audible when closing the doors, driving over bumps, or during louder bass in the radio. It turned out to be the cover that runs from the rearview mirror to the ceiling lining. It's a bit poorly fitted and causes this annoying buzzing. I put a black hair rubber band from my daughter on it, and the problem disappeared. I hope this helps some of you out.
