Recently just charged up the refrigerant in my ac. My compressors making a clicking noise, asked someone and they said thats its going bad. I have a 2000 dodge Durango SLT. I am a window person. Is anything going to happen to my car if i don't replace the compressor?

Well at some point the clutch is going to lock up if you leave the a/c switch on and continue to use it. Which in turn will cause your engine to run very badly or shut it off. Could break the serpentine belt also. If the compressor clutch hasn't completely locked up, unplug the electrical connector at the compressor and it will not kick in and the compressor pulley will spin freely. There are also bypass belts available at some auto parts stores so you can re-route the belt without the compressor. If you need to replace the compressor after it grenades, I would strongly recommend you replace the expansion valve(s), condenser and filter/drier at the same time.
