If you haven't done any A/C work you probably don't have the tools to do this. You need a vacuum pump, you also need to know the right type of oil to use, and how to properly dry and then recharge a system. In a lot of places you also need a license to buy the freon. Besides, it's a real bear to change the evaporator, if that's part of the repair. Good luck.
