One day sitting at a light, died.
Blinking odometer.
Towed home, swapped pcm with my 99 5.2 D. Started, ran. Ordered new, correct, PCM. Installed, ran for half a day, few restarts, suddenly, no restart. Towed home. Swapped in 99 PCM again. Started. No restart 2 minutes later.
I now have what I believe is 3 bad PCMs.
I've checked 12 volt at pins 2, 22 good.
I checked 5 volt outputs, good on primary, 4.6 on secondary.
Any suggestions?

How old is your battery? Unless it is brand spanking new, have it load tested, and replace it if it comes back less than 100%. How many miles on it, and any recent service history?

What kind of no-start behavior? will it start if you hold a little throttle?

Cranks fast, fine, strong.
Have no spark, no fuel pump prime.
Acts like ASD. Checked all relays, fuses.
Odometer flashes and I get 920, 921 codes from cluster test.
No bus communication.
Vehicle has run flawlessly for me.

So ide say something is shorted.. sensor or a wire.. as if you replaced and it runs and then is taking out a pcm each time make sure your fuses are not change out to higher amperage as that will take out the pcm and be masking the culprit..ide go that route.. as if the pcm was overheating it should reset? And restart when cool .. 2nd a lack of communication/bus loss wouldn't that go toward a pcm doa right off the start ... maybe check the obd port wires for chaffing/short .......buying a pcm for each test will get expensive..check all good luck..
