Most of you are in one of the four Durango Hellcat groups on Facebook so this isn't new, but I wanted to start a thread to hopefully keep updated with any relevant information.

Let me add to the rumor mill a bit with a discovery over the weekend. While checking a VIN for a DDHC being parted out by Schram Auto Parts I noticed it was actually a 2023 model. Naturally, I dug a bit deeper and found at least 14 2023 Dodge Durango Hellcats that Dodge produced as "vehicle development pilots." Why would Dodge build pilot vehicles with 2023 VIN numbers? Was 2023 the original model year planned for the DDHC and Dodge pivoted and pulled it forward to 2021 and as such all other pilot vehicle VINs are 2021s as they were produced after the 2023s?
Who knows, but here is a little bit more about how these 2023 pilots were configured...
  • All of them list Rear Seat Reminder Alert as standard (new feature)
  • Half were White Knuckle while the other half were DB Black
  • All but one was built with Demonic Red Leather
  • The only option on the one with Black interior was the Lightweight Package
  • All of them had Blind Spot / Cross Path as standard (similar to 2022)
  • All but the one with zero options were built with sunroofs, roof rails, roof cross bars, cargo compartment shade, and the Trailer Tow IV group.
  • Some were built with Forged Carbon Fiber Interior Accents but not the rest of the Premium Interior Group features
  • All of them had a "Restricted Models/Options" line item
  • No differences listed for engine, transmission, driveline, etc. (same as 2021 build sheets)
  • These will not be saleable units as Dodge has several rounds of pre-production builds, with the last round usually having some saleable units closer to production (similar to the 2021 DDHC pre-production units that have been hitting the auto auction scene with 500XXX VINs).
I wouldn't get too excited about this discovery, but it may be another small hint of a last hurrah for the DDHC in 2023. I guess we will have to see what they announce in the middle of August when they talk more about future models.

So just a couple of observations, looks exactly like the seats in our 22 DDSRT (no color change on the red as some thought), second as the owner of two Hellcats (2019 Hellcat Charger and our current 2021 Super Stock) I would be pissed not the have the Hellcat logo on the seats. But having said all that the reality is that you are getting the last true ICE HEMI SUV that Dodge is ever going to build so if I was the new owner of this I would still be a happy camper. Much the same way we feel to have stuck out the wait for our 2022 DDSRT that came optioned (except the lightweight package) exactly as we wanted it built.

In today's episode of "What The? Wednesday..." 2023 Durango Hellcats are showing up on the Dodge.com website in inventory. For those new to this game the Dodge website will NOT show orders entered as sold orders but they will show orders that were entered as dealer stock. Much to my surprise when I was making my weekly rounds of the USA there were plenty that were showing up! Now, this is a bit surprising as I would expect Dodge to put sold orders first in terms of build priority, but we saw this same thing happen in 2021. Another thing to mention is that dealers showing available stock units were in fact on the DDHC allocation list. So, if you are still looking, it might be checking a couple zip codes near you to see if any pop up and give those dealers a call. They are most likely already spoken for or will be offered at hefty ADMs, but it doesn't hurt to give them a shout.

Personal dealer site yes, they don't control the actual Dodge.com site from what I understand.

It looks like the first "Base" trim Durango Hellcats are coming off the line and the first two I have found are Production Evaluation Run (PER) vehicles. I can confirm these have the BLACK leather seats with suede inserts in them. They do not have any other options (no technology package, no sunroof, no trailer tow, etc.) These are NOT sold orders but builds that Dodge does and then distributes to a random dealer for sale. Assuming these go well I would could possibly see the order board open up for Base orders. One (VIN 601265) is already passed the quality gate and might get shipped next week.

Sunday Stats on Mopar Monday - March 6 - I know, I know, where have the darn stats been! Well, here are my latest 2023 Durango Hellcat numbers! (Just a note that my data lags that of Triple_B on the other forum as I lack his fantastic automated system, but I am not short by many and I hope to catch up soon.) Still no PERs for the new colors unfortunately. Remember in 2021 we saw a few In-Violets leak out before the order board opened for that color. Average MSRP on shipped units was $104,891.

Mopar Monday Stats - March 13, 2023
Durango Hellcat builds are still averaging around 10 per day
Actual production is closer to 400 units. I am just behind on my manual searches due to lack of free time
With more DDHCs being delivered we can confirm no suede headliner & A-post covers and no Hellcat embossment in the seatbacks (not really new news)
Premium Trim gets the Demonic Red mid dash bolsters and center console trim along with the PUR wrapped dash with silver stitching and forged carbon fiber inserts.
Plus Trim gets black mid dash bolsters and center console trim with the standard dash without stitching and no forged carbon fiber.
Still only 1 Base Trim DDHC produced so far and it has not been shipped (its a production evaluation unit)
22 DDHCs have been built for Canada so far, 16 have been shipped
No Durangos built in any of the "new for 2023" colors
This may not be new but Dodge added 5,000 miles to the inventory search radius so it is easy to see what vehicles are available US wide (16 DDHCs show up currently as dealer stock units, sold orders will NOT show up on Dodge.com)

Mopar Monday Stats - March 20 Slow and steady DDHC production continues. 252 dealers remain on the allocation list as of March 13 and that is down from 350 a month earlier. Some dealers seem to be getting additional allocations so call around if you are still looking to order. The first FROSTBITE and TRIPLE NICKEL DDHCs rolled off this line this week. Both are Production Evaluation Run (PER) vehicles and belong to Dodge for Marketing / Media Relations purposes. The Frostbite one is getting Sterling Silver stripes and the Triple Nickel one will get Gunmetal. Let's hope we see some real images of those two colors soon. I would assume we might see the other new colors go down the line for their trials soon. Base Trim ordering is now available along with a few of the new colors per several members who placed orders. Lightweight Package is available to order on Base Trim only. There are 50 DDHCs waiting on stripes as of this week but the upfitter seems to be cranking them out with about a 2-3 week delay from when they roll off the assembly line! Don't forget the Dodge Last Call reveal tonight at 9 PM EST!

@CWGrizzwold

Will you be doing this for the Demon 170?

Asking for a friend. ;)
Ha! Probably not, but I am sure TripleB will add a row to his existing 2023 tracker for them. He is on Hellcat.org as you are probably already aware and has a lovely automated system which makes my manual system pretty painful. Congrats on your order. That makes two folks I know that have one coming.

Mopar Monday Stats - March 26 - DDHC production continues at a steady pace with 558 produced and 441 shipped as of this morning (my data lags TripleBs actual numbers a bit as I hunt for those missing VINs). Still only the 1 Frostbite and Triple Nickel pilot vehicles produced and they are waiting on stripes to be finished. At least 56 other completed DDHCs are awaiting stripes to be shipped. DDHC allocation list hasn't been updated since March 16 which has ~250 dealers remaining with allocations. There are 65 DDHCs nationwide showing up on the Dodge.com inventory for "dealer retail" that are currently in production or in transit. Remember these were ordered as dealer retail units and not as sold orders but it doesn't mean they haven't sold since they order was placed. Have a safe week!

I rarely do long distance on the interstates , mostly country 2 lane/city commuting, but recently did a 150 mile trip, and what a pleasure having unlimited passing/approaching speed..I was giddy as the left lane folks moved over to let the hulk roll on by..I was actually impressed with the amount of mirror checking..I almost thought I was in Europe..

CANCELLED...SERIOUSLY?

I knew there was a chance this could happen but I tried to be as optimistic about this as I could.

Ordered Hellcat Durango in December with VON through power broker. No VIN to date. Took upon myself to reach out to Dodge/Stellantis and they assured me no issue in February. Cool...Or so I thought. Then dealer informs me my orders cancelled per Dodge 2 more months later. Now I'm not getting anywhere with answers. Dodge initially told me it's not cancelled. Then says it could be. Tells me the dealer has all the info. Dealer is pointing fingers at Dodge. So I'm getting ping ponged around here...

Can speculate all day long but at the end of the day I placed an order four months ago and I'm now without an allocation that the power broker confirmed they had.

Any suggestions?

I'm digging into a few other dealers around here but I know allocations are long gone...

Tried Stellantis today. Agreed they don't care but my case is now getting escalated to double check but it appears I finally have more certainty than not that the dealer implemented the cancel.

There are actually a couple of DDHC's showing up on Dealer's lots for sale. I you are up to a road trip and not picky about the color then I think you may be in luck getting one.
I don't mind traveling but the fact of the matter is I shouldn't have to. I could have used another dealer but was already purchasing another vehicle at this dealer so pushed this through them too. I'll keep into consideration if it gets to that point though. Thanks.

Mopar Monday Stats - April 10, 2023 - JNAP and GFX Warren (stripes) closed the gap quite a bit on produced versus shipped units over the last two weeks. Actual produced versus shipped is 637 and 600 but my data logs the actual by a bit. Only 20 or so DDHCs are still awaiting stripes. DDHC allocation list still hasn't been updated since March 16 as I assume Dodge was focused on Demon 170 orders. There are 95 DDHCs showing on Dodge.com as dealer stock units for sale, but I know some of those have already been sold. The two Dodge marketing units (Frostbite and Triple Nickel) have been completed and I hope we see them soon either at an auto show or in updated media images.

Mopar Monday Stats - April 17, 2023 - Short week for JNAP last week with only a few DDHCs getting shipped and even fewer being built (637 built and 609 shipped YTD) . I will post a stats update next week. Fun fact on 2023s that I missed previously and can't take credit for finding. Not only are all the mirror caps gloss black but the shark fin antenna on the roof is also gloss black on all 2023s. Got to love cost reductions and simplification!

2021s continue to get stolen (unfortunately), stripped and wrecked. My tracker has nearly 100 2021 VINs on it that have shown up on either IAAI or COPART. I've attached some pictures of one I found this week with a custom interior. I am okay with Dodge not offering a tan suede premium interior offering. This was on a Destroyer Gray DDHC.

I've also attached link to a true 2021 DDHC unicorn that recently popped up for sale. There was only one Billet with Bright Blue stripes made and this is it. It was also nicely optioned and included the Lightweight Package to make it even more rare!
