UPDATE: Salesman called today to say that NOW the base model SRT 392 can also be ordered in Vapor Gray or TripleNickel. I went down there to order the Vapor and was informed that I had to pay the list price at the time of delivery.

Walked out again. Will not return.
Find another dealer. I got $2000 off MSRP at mine.

Good going!!!

I tried the only other dealer I could get to (60 miles further away) and they wanted a $7500 ADM. Not much competition where I live. I guess I am tired of chasing this. All I wanted was a 'plain' base model with no options except for the paint.

The new economy. I am not playing.

Again, congratulations on your deal and your new SRT to be!

Thanks, brother. I can't believe both of your dealers wouldn't budge on a build-to-order car though. Here in LA, cars sitting on the lots all have ridiculous ADMs tacked on, but they're willing to deal if you BTO.

Ebony Red is more subdued, kind of like a dusty red. Not dusty rose but dusty red. I saw it on a '21 White Citadel and it looked good, especially with the dash pad in red too. The older red is brighter.
the 23s dash panel color is no longer matched to the seat color.

EDIT: maybe I am wrong as the premiums seem to have the color match dash..

You should be able to find a dealer who will lock in your price at the time of order. I ordered mine in March before the mid-year price increase but my DDSRT was not built until December I stillm got the original price at the time of delivery. Don't blame you for walking but I would get on the stick and get one going if you really want one.

Here is an overview of the two trims. Trims are the same between the SRT Hellcat and the SRT 392.
Premium Trim
  • Demonic Red mid dash bolsters and trim around the top of the center console
  • Forged carbon fiber accents on passenger side of the dashboard, inner right side of the center console and on all door panels
  • PUR wrapped instrument panel with silver accent stitching
  • Demonic Red seatbelts
  • Harmon Kardon 19 speaker audio (which adds extended speaker grills with dark gray metallic rings)
  • 2nd row console
Plus Trim
  • Black mid dash bolsters and trim around the top of the center console
  • "Apex hydro" accents on passenger side of the dashboard, inner right side of the center console and on all door panels
  • Standard dash without accent stitching
  • Alpine 9 speaker audio
Here are a few pictures comparing the two trims.

Thank you! That answers the question!

It looks 10 times better with the dash piece matching..
Agreed. It also looks better, IMO, with the seemingly darker red color of the left-side photos. Not sure if there is an actual difference in the colors in real life, or if it is just the lighting or images on the computer screens.

Do you have the info for the base trim? Curious as to whether the mid dash is leather or suede.

^^^This. Between wife, kids, parents, and friends I have helped, I have probably special-ordered 20-25 cars in my lifetime. Dealers have ALWAYS locked in vehicle pricing at the time of ordering (not necessarily OTD pricing since some things can fluctuate). I have never had an issue with a dealer trying to renegotiate or raise the price at delivery. You always need to carefully read all the line items for hidden fees, of course. I wonder if in this case the dealer is not sure if he can get a 2023 for you, so wants to keep his options open in case it turns out to be a 2024 with 2024 pricing?

Anyway in view of some recent posts I poked around at some local dealers to see if they have started negotiating on 2023 SRT 392's or Hellcats....no dice...MSRP or higher still seems to be the standard around here.....

I began this journey in September 2021 with the same dealer. Not a sudden impulse. No stranger to sales techniques and negotiating. I only special order my vehicles.

I keep hearing that this is the final year for the Hemi and these type of cars (possibly true). As a result, it seems that customers for the various Dodge SRT models are perceived as Dickens' characters: "Please sir, more porridge".

So in my usual unassuming self, I went along with the nonsense of list price only. Right before signing, the salesperson dropped the surprise of 'List Price at Time of Delivery' followed by a negative close: (while sneering and taking away the order sheet) "Well, you don't have to buy the car..."

He was right - I do not HAVE to buy the car. Walked out.

It's technically not leather but a PUR wrap. Most automakers are going away from leather wrapped anything as it delaminates, bubbles, shrinks, etc. with time.

Here is what your dash will look like minus the Harmon Kardon speaker covers on the doors.

Thanks, buddy. Looks just as good to my eye as the stitched polyurethane. It's a good thing they're going away from real leather. The Grand Cherokee Overland I'm replacing with the Durango has a real leather dash, and indeed, I've gotten bubbles and delimitation in the corners. A pisser when you spend extra money for a top trim, only to have that occur.

Our 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT did the same thing. We received the extended warranty from Jeep for the dash but my dealer dropped the ball and never got the replacement in for us. It was not that bad and did not hurt us at trade-in time. We did have the Carbon Fiber trim replaced under the TSB for that.

Well my status has been updated to "built" on March 16th, and supposedly on the way. Window sticker is available...I see that "The SRT Experience" (now from Radford instead of Bondurant) is back on the sticker. I skipped it last time...might see if my son wants to do it....

I previously posted that my dealer informed me that my purchase would be the list price at time of delivery. I refused.

It appears that the dealer may have known something. This AM the Dodge website shows a $395 increase for a base SRT 392 on the main page but shows the older figure on the build section. As the website is not perfectly accurate, who knows.

That would be the paint pricing.
