I'm on a few car forums, and you would be surprised how many car guys believe that they have a "special" relationship with their dealer...

Every dealer that I have ever dealt with has sought a special relationship with me. The same kind of relationship that Bill McKinney had with Ned Beatty in "Deliverance."

Okay, for you guys who've been waiting like me, I was finally able to order an SRT 392 in base trim today.
Pissed I can't order the sunroof, Harmon-Kardon and Premium Interior Group, but at least I don't have to live with those red seats.
Order away, boys. No telling how long the window will remain open.
- Destroyer Gray
- Black suede and leather seats
- Black Package
- Lightweight Performance Package
- Pirelli P-Zeros

Sadly, correct. The only options available are exterior color, stripes, Black Package, Lightweight Performance Package,
Trailer Tow Group, and upgraded tires.
Don't understand what's so bad about the red interior. I lived with "those red seats" for 2yrs. Best looking interior of any Durango I've owned.

OK, thanks. Then the "base," though I would prefer the black to the red interior, is really not an option for me.
Yeah...when I first placed my order for the Premium I was not happy about the red interior, but given the option packages I had no choice. But I have talked myself into liking it, after looking at numerous photos. I do prefer the feel of all-leather to the Alcantara (or whatever they call it). However, on my 2019 the alcantara parts of the seats are "wearing" better than the leather parts of the seats. Will have to wait and see how the red leather wears.
Generally, in the past when I have paid extra for options that I initially didn't want (due to packages or other reasons), I ended up being happy I had them. In this case I will get to "side-by-side" the black and red interiors for a while since I am going to keep the 2019 for at least a few weeks after getting the 2023....so I will be able to directly compare...though I am sure that good old confirmation bias will have me loving the red.

I like the red interior.. just unbelievable the DDHC got downgraded in quality/features and the price went as the years went on.. i.e no logo in seat backs and no suede headliner.. ick.
We also had trouble deciding on the red seats but against the black exterior it really pops. We love it and we get many compliments on it.

Congrats... I can't wait to see your Lightwieght Package, I tried so hard to order this for my 2022 DDSRT...
Same as 2022... My dealer already has a 23 on the lot...

Truth be told, many manufacturers are moving away from offering them, and instead provide multiple rear seating USB ports. Guess they figure that kids these days don't go anywhere without their iPads.
UPDATE: Salesman called today to say that NOW the base model SRT 392 can also be ordered in Vapor Gray or TripleNickel. I went down there to order the Vapor and was informed that I had to pay the list price at the time of delivery.
Walked out again. Will not return.
