Tried on Saturday 1/28/23 to order a basic SRT 392 DD with suede seats but only the Plus or Premium could actually be ordered. There was no way the dealer could even physically enter the order.
I assume that you meant to be funny but you have hit upon the truth. Dodge has many parts/accessories to get rid of before the new Durango next year. If they sell too many base models, Dodge will be stuck with all those extra sunroofs or whatever. If people go ahead with the red leather so they can get the HK sound system (for example) and then Dodge runs out of the HKs, all they will get is a credit. Perhaps.Perhaps they have a sh*t ton of Red leather on hand and now have to unload it?![]()
Reminds me of this:Ebony Red is more subdued, kind of like a dusty red. Not dusty rose but dusty red. I saw it on a '21 White Citadel and it looked good, especially with the dash pad in red too. The older red is brighter.
'Base' model or Plus or Premium (SRT 392)? ThanksGot a SRT in trim yesterday, estimated ship date is today! As per dealer.
Matches the Dodge info. Seems reasonable. Estimated delivery March 8th says Dodge. Wow, took delivery of a certain hard to come by custom ordered 2015 Hellcat on March 14, 2015! Never would have thought it would be sold, I would own yet another bigger Hellcat and be looking forward to another big Dodge eight years later.
These photos were taken on 9/16/21 at a dealer. Called Demonic Red then so possible it will be the same. I was concentrating on the exterior color and this is, unfortunately, the best photo I have of the interior. Certainly looks different than the build to order site.Yes, agree and will share. I am very concerned myself. If it is a darker red, I will be so happy. If it trends more towards that brighter red, I’ll need to just ignore it.![]()
Just checked with my dealer order manager and not yet.Anybody gotten word when the 2023 SRT 392 Base will be available to order?
Thanks for the update! For all you guys in my boat waiting for the base trim SRT 392 to become available for BTO, I just received a response to a message I sent to Dodge inquiring as to when the order banks will open:
“The 2023 Dodge Durango SRT model vehicle is noted as a late availability configuration. Ordering for this configuration has not yet opened and we would be unable to speculate on future order timing.”
that’s all they gave me…
UPDATE: Salesman called today to say that NOW the base model SRT 392 can also be ordered in Vapor Gray or TripleNickel. I went down there to order the Vapor and was informed that I had to pay the list price at the time of delivery.Received a call today from my dealer salesman that the order bank had opened for the base model 2023 DD SRT 392!
I went down there to order it in Vapor Gray. Unfortunately (for me) only the 2022 colors could be ordered - Destroyer Gray, white, red, black. I asked the manager to confirm that he was looking at the 2023 colors. Yes.
I walked out.
Good going!!!Find another dealer. I got $2000 off MSRP at mine.
I began this journey in September 2021 with the same dealer. Not a sudden impulse. No stranger to sales techniques and negotiating. I only special order my vehicles.^^^This. Between wife, kids, parents, and friends I have helped, I have probably special-ordered 20-25 cars in my lifetime. Dealers have ALWAYS locked in vehicle pricing at the time of ordering (not necessarily OTD pricing since some things can fluctuate). I have never had an issue with a dealer trying to renegotiate or raise the price at delivery. You always need to carefully read all the line items for hidden fees, of course. I wonder if in this case the dealer is not sure if he can get a 2023 for you, so wants to keep his options open in case it turns out to be a 2024 with 2024 pricing?
Anyway in view of some recent posts I poked around at some local dealers to see if they have started negotiating on 2023 SRT 392's or Hellcats....no dice...MSRP or higher still seems to be the standard around here.....
I am aware that the $395 is what is charged for most paint options but the first page clearly states "MSRP Starting At" showing an increase of $395. I have attached another 2nd page with White Knuckle (zero paint charge) and the 'old' base price. With the Dodge website, anything can be true. At this point, I have no idea what the base price is - just thought I would post the two different base prices on the website today. That would be the paint pricing.
