Is it worth the $ to do the intake instead of staying stock with a good filter? About to go with a Banks Pedal kit. Looking for advice/experiences? I hear K&N are the best, but not cheap... TIA

RT. Not a Tow n Go. First Mod. And have a Banks Pedal Monster on the way.Ok,
this is a topic of great debate. I'll give you my experience with. my 17 R/T and intake systems. The stock intake I could not get out of the 14 second pass at the track. When I installed a K&N CAI system , I dropped into the 13's and stayed there ever after. Most will say it wasn't the intake it was D/A temp my better driving skills blah blah blah. But for my Truck at my Drag Strip with multi passes stock and just the K&N , I went faster with then without.
That being said, what Durango are you trying to put an intake on? RT , SRT?
The Pedal monster is a waste in my opinion, but maybe you'll like it. If not you can always sell it.RT. Not a Tow n Go. First Mod. And have a Banks Pedal Monster on the way.
I assume a closed system doesn't give the same flow. But those vents are actually there for a reason. I don't want to close it up. I've seen the AFE GT Pro used on the SRT hood for that reason. From what I see online, it also works well. I'm sure it's less expensive, too.The Pedal monster is a waste in my opinion, but maybe you'll like it. If not you can always sell it.
The issue with going with a CAI unit with he SRT hood is water. The Vent lives right above the intake and it will take water.
I would look into a Closed system like a AFE Momentuim GT Pro . It's closed but performs well.
Closed systems can flow plenty of air for the engine. Most factory systems are closed and matched to the engines needs , for the most part. Some cars very little if not at all gains can be had on a stock engine with an intake system.I assume a closed system doesn't give the same flow. But those vents are actually there for a reason.
