This is a repost from another thread, hopping that someone may be able to help.
Hello everyone, so I went to the dealer for a battery issue on my 2021 durango srt, I went to turn and the car lost power and basically shut down while driving. They first asked me if I had a tune on your PCM since the system accused the code P1400, I said no but anyway isn't the pcm locked? Yea but people find a way, I'm like the pcm in the car right now has no tune right, but if it did what does this have to do with the battery? Well nothing, so ok then, I guess you trying to mention this for the potential battery warranty claim i'm about to put in for ? Anyway it was a ground wire issue, and since you where here we had a recall for your car so we installed the latest Uconnect software, i'm like I did that already I got the usb key in the mail, well it didn't take it I guess, i'm like ok then. Anyway I get in my car and nothing is the same I assumed all got reset I guess? Well little did I know that they I guess they installed the r/t update and now I'm on the R/T dashboard and missing stuff on my dash, called and gone for the day! Called next day saying i'm on my way, and the answer was we too busy can you come tomorrow, ok then. So today I went in, bottom line they can't reflash it, because I have a code for a tuned pcm that is not tuned, I explained that some of my security features that were available on my SRT are not available and I don't feel safe driving it. The manager comes by and tries to speak to me like I'm ignorant and no nothing about cars of software or electronics," someone did something the exhaust you have is after market and they need to tune the pc to make it work and bla bla bla...Well there goes the neighborhood, im like what did you say??? first my exhaust is certified by Mopar it's a gthaus meisterschaft and there's no need to do any software updates or tunes, so no warranty voids you should know that sir, second you claim that you cant refresh the car because the code P1400 is present correct? The code happened at 5000 miles I have 19000 miles so unless in the last 2 days I did 14000 miles you couldn't have been able to flash it 2 days ago right? Is the PCM flashed? NO is the PCM the original one from when I got the car? Yes, so wtf are you talking about??? Well you have to call dodge and explain, I am at dodge right now and how am I going to explain something that doesn't make sense, what next explain flat earth? What are they going to do that you cant? can you clear the code? No. So how can THEY clear it?? You fuck up my car and i'm responsible to find a fix for it???
Anyway no idea if someone dealt with this or what to do here? Is there a way to reset the cluster?

Lots to unpack here! Sorry you've got to deal with that nonsense.

First - What dealer is this? That is pretty awful treatment, and folks should know.

Second - Your cluster says "SRT" next to the Carplay button. Do none of those options pull up anymore? What happens if you try to use Launch control, or push the SRT button on the center stack?

Third - You have rights under the Magnusson Moss Warranty Act. They cannot void the warranty on the electrical system if they cannot prove that other changes or modifications caused the failure. If you install an aftermarket PCV valve, and that valve failing causes an engine failure, your warranty claim can be denied if that part doesn't meet or exceed OE specs. But if you install an aftermarket PCV valve, and then 3 weeks later your heated-seat module goes out, they cannot deny the warranty claim on the module because of the aftermarket PCV valve. Neither your exhaust, or even an unlocked PCM, will cause a battery failure. Stellantis should back you on that.

Fourth - The P1400 code is strange, if you're the first owner and really haven't unlocked/tuned the PCM. The only time that code gets set on an otherwise stock vehicle, is if you are using a MOPAR Performance PCM (like the Demon Crate PCM, or Scat Pack Performance PCM). That said, however, that code isn't an instant warranty denial. If the dealer sees that code, they must verify that the PCM is not authorized (see below). The code itself is not sufficient proof. Again, even IF you had an unlocked/unauthorized PCM, that would not have anything to do with the battery or a warranty claim on the radio/cluster.

Finally - Something doesn't smell right about their claim to have updated uconnect. The PCM has nothing to do with the uconnect update at all. The fact that they mention the PCM when talking about the uconnect update is very odd. Add to that, it's not possible to "reinstall" a uconnect update. It simply cannot be done. If you had updated the software, the dealer would have gotten an error (below) that cannot be bypassed. You need to find out EXACTLY what they tried to do, and what TSB's they were trying to perform. Post the TSB number. There have been no recalls on the 2021 Durango, and the last TSB was issued in June of 2021 (at least from what I can see). What were they doing in there?

You can check the software version of your system by pressing and holding the drivers temp up and down buttons along with the front defrost.

I called the GM so I'll wait until tomorrow to give them another chance to rectify this.

Exhaust is mopar certified and they said the code prevented the reflash and that I had to deal with dodge directly. They mentioned warranty but no void, yet.

They were fixing the electrical issue and since I was there they updated the uconnect software, I told them I got the usb and I did it already, they like maybe it didn't take, (I checked the version and its FCAMY21R1789) Now how they tried to tell me that the fact that I have a "tuned pcm" made the module brake down and its a coincidence that it happen when my car was at the shop really makes me want to hurt this guy. HTF does a "tuned pcm" make at the cluster an RT is beyond comprehension and the fact that this guy spoke to me like a jerk off......arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

No doubt in my mind the tech screwed up when flashing the IPC. The IPC flash is legit for incorrect fuel levels for vehicels built before 5/18/2021 which yours was.
But I bet they have to answer some questions when doing it on the wi-tech. Like, SXT/GT/RT/SRT pick which one.

Wait what???? How did he even find out?
Yep, a 2021 SRT owner took delivery and posted his IPC. The speedo went to 140MPH which is the R/T speedo.
Factory screw up BIG time along with delaer screw up. No one caught is during QC check at Dodge or PDI at the dealer.
Not that Mopar dealers really do a PDI cause they don't.

Next time you buy a Mopar, before you sign the paper, ask for the PDI report. LOL LOL LOL LOL
