Hey everyone! I’ve got a 2021 Dodge Durango R/T with about 17,000 miles on it. I had an alignment done around 2–3 weeks ago, but I’ve noticed the steering wheel is still a bit off—it’s slightly turned to the right while driving straight. I haven’t hit any potholes or gone over any speed bumps too fast since then, so I’m not sure what’s going on. Could it be that something like the camber or toe is still off? Or is it just the steering wheel that wasn’t centered properly? Should I just take it back and have them check the alignment again?

Tell us why it had to be aligned in the first place.

Almost every Mopar I have owned in 25 years has had a steering wheel a couple of degrees off. That is not a defect from the factory (+/- 5-8 degrees) rather a major annoyance to me.
I have had my alignments done within 6 months of ownership. Stress to the dealer you want a before and after specs and that you want your wheel 12 o'clock, period. An experience alignment tech can do it in one shot. A hippy dippy typical Dodge tech may take 2 or even 3 times. Annoying but well worth it.

it's not the alignment of the tires (well technically it is) it is the alignment rather misalignment of the steering wheel from the factory.
God forbid the UAW does it's job right. A crooked steering wheel sucks especially if you are a symmetry perfectionist. LOL

Hi @Newdriver06 was the alignment done at a Dodge dealership? If so, feel free to send our team a private message so we can offer an extra layer of assistance.

Sometimes getting the toe right with the steering wheel straight is a bit tricky. If I remember right, I always put another 1/4 or 1/2 degree positive caster on the right wheel to allow for road crown. Back when we had Dinosaurs I once put one back on the rack three times to get the steering wheel straight. Take it back and tell them the problem, they know. Now if the steering wheel is off by only a degree or two, just live with it.

The numbers you see on the results is for tracking/alignment and not for a straight steering wheel. So you might need to add + toe to the left tire and - toe the right tire, or the other way around as it depends which way your steering wheel is off. Like I said, a good alignment tech will get it right for you.

ND06:
I agree 100% that the wheel should be straight when the wheels are also straight. As mentioned, the toe in is not set correctly, or there might be one or more worn parts.
At 17k, this is very unlikely unless a part was defective or damaged in some way. Usually, the shop will come back and say they can't get it right unless the offending part(s) are replaced.

My guess is the shop needs to make it right, since they did not not the first time.
