2021 DD Uconnect 5C 10.1" System Issues/Glitches (Share your experiences)

I figured I would start this thread to see what issues people are running into. I'm sure many of these will be worked out quickly but wanted to see is others are having the same issues I am.

1) Yesterday, my screen became completely unresponsive. It would not acknowledge any screen touches. This went on for 5 minutes and continued after a reboot of the system. Eventually it just started working on its own again. It started when my apple car play started up.

2) Performance pages are glitchy. They seem to crash when I select the certain performance page I want to view. Without fail, the G Force page crashes and reverts to the home page every time I click on it.

3) I am unable to add more than one profile. I called Uconnect and they said an update will be pushed out soon to add up to 5 profiles. Is everyone having this issue?

4) Screen not dimming when headlights are on while using apple carplay. It seems like its on full bright even when headlights are on only when on the car play screen.

I think you meant F-Uconnect5, right? I'm pretty sure that's what DODGE calls it internally.

I almost smashed my radio this morning. It’s stuck in valet again and I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to pull the battery power to get it reset. 😡

It is not the radios fault , it is Stellantis who can' get good programmers (which are a dime a dozen for android)
Garbage in and you get garbage out. That is all they are doing and for us MY21 owners, I think we will never get an update.

I had to hold down power button for radio and let it hard restart and it recognized my account after that.
So by pure magic started the DDSRT this morning and there was Sirus just like nothing had ever happened... Our 2014 Dodge Challenger with all it's old tech 730N Nav and Stereo has never missed a beat in 8 years of ownership. We updated the system with the CD you pay $100.00 for last year and all is good. Our 21 Superstock has the old 8.4 system and so far has been perfect. What the heck??

That’s true but there wasn’t a trashlantis programmer in front of me to smash so the radio has to take the blame. 😂

Just remember all these experiences when Stellantis tries to tell you how awesome the subscription based, software controlled everything world will be. These people can't program "hello world" without bugs. Then they tell you it isn't actually a problem. Then they just ignore you. I can't really see how they think this is a viable approach to business.

Just remember all these experiences when Stellantis tries to tell you how awesome the subscription based, software controlled everything world will be. These people can't program "hello world" without bugs. Then they tell you it isn't actually a problem. Then they just ignore you. I can't really see how they think this is a viable approach to business.
Yeah there is no chance I want to deal with EV offerings from this company. It’s all software at that point. 😬
That’s my daily routine. This Uconnect 5 is absolute trash, I’d rather have Windows ME on it.

I’ve been fighting this since June 2021…. I’m legit jealous if you’re not having as many issues and I hope that continues on your favor. 🍻

I should clarify, I was responding to the Sirius XM thing above regarding it has happened twice. The uconnect error message I have had at least 50 times since I got it.

I did it once and didn't have any problem but that was quite a while ago.

I think I discovered a trick yesterday… right after entering my pin to disable Valet (while it says exiting valet mode) I just shut the Durango off while I had the door open and when I started back up everything was back to normal. Maybe that’s the way to break the loop?

Currently it’s getting stuck about 80% of the time.

I should know today… I’ve been using Valet anytime I park outside of the garage so I’m running into this pretty frequently. Will let you all know. 🍻

Well.. my trick didn’t work. I got stuck 4 times that day and twice the next. I decided to stop leaving it in the driveway at all and just keeping it in the garage so I don’t have to mess with anything. PITA garbage system.

I got in my car at lunch and all the presets were defaulted to other channels and the comfort button looks a little different, could this be the over the air update? I will update if the message pop up comes on…

I don’t have pics of the Sirius XM stations being all reset (of course you wouldn’t know which stations I had). I thought the lines around the comfort button looked thinner than before (pic included). I don’t know if there was any redesign for this update or just a glitch fix. I used to have the message pop up as soon as I got in the car and a couple times a ride. I have not seen it yet. I did message that Dodge cares and gave them my VIN for the update a couple months ago.

I am hopeful but I will keep you posted if the message comes back.
