As I look and compare the two (Citadel with V8) and the RT, is seems that the 2 are identical except for the optional choices for exch.. and yet, a lot of those are cross platform. However, are there things, mechanically different from the two (ie suspension, exhaust..etc).. most of what I can find leads me to believe they are the same.

So getting a Citadel w v8 is the same are getting a loaded RT (minus the stow n go package which really sets the RT different than the Citadel).. and the obvious other RT trim level upgrades.

Thanks,

Joe.

As mentioned it used to be the R/T was the least expensive way to get the Hemi in the D.
However the Citadel was always a better buy if you wanted extras as it came with almost everything standard...certainly a better buy than loading up a Limited or GT for example.
But the R/T also had a different suspension setup and sport exhaust which gave it a different personality than the Citadel.
Not sure if that applies to the '21 but would make sense that it should...but you never know where the bean counters will put their hand on so it might be all the suspension setups are the same now.

Coming from a Trailblazer SS, the R/T is what drew me to Durango.

I couldn’t find a fully loaded R/T and ended up with a Citadel. When optioned the same, the only mechanical difference between them is R/T has 1” lower stiffer springs and a louder exhaust.

I’m very happy with my Citadel, the Hemi still sounds sweet.
