Hello,
Anyone know if the SRT exhaust would fit a 2017 R/T?
Also does anyone know what the differences are and would it be worth going that route over an aftermarket option?

The SRT exhausts are usually 2.75" in diameter. I'd just do a catback for the R/T, that 1/4" isn't going to make that much difference. BUT, if the SRT exhaust is cheap enough, might be worth going to that over a catback for the R/T.

Even though SRT exhausts look similar on the outside, the internal construction of the mufflers is significantly different. Instead of routing exhaust gas through bends and turns and baffles, SRT mufflers are straight through... like Magnaflows. Or at least they use to be.

Hey Ekaz. How are you? I think I remember you from LXforums... been a while.

Thats basically what I was thinking. I assume after the Cat's the exhaust would use the same hanger locations.

Doing alright, it has definitely been a while. I swapped a stock exhaust on a '17 Jeep SRT and the suitcase muffler looks identical to what it on our R/T's. The pipes were reduced to mate up to the muffler. They used to be different, but not sure if that's the case any more.

Odd sidenote through the grapevine: The exhaust on the Jeep Trackhawk barely passed federal noise levels.

I would think so too but I can't say. It's nothing a good exhaust shop couldn't re-jigger for you if needed. This would sure be a unique setup, with probably a more subdued sound than an aftermarket catback, which I like.

After hurricane Irma swept through my area a few weeks ago I decided I needed a hauler with some decent range for those times us Floridians need to pack up and get out of the way of these big storms. After nixing the twin turbo BMW X5 and the new GMC Acadia, I found the Durango... and liked it so much I ordered an '18 Citadel with the V8.

No exhaust swaps for me this time around. I plan to keep mine stock and take it to 300,000 miles.

The Flowmaster also sounds great.
I like the way Flowmasters sound, but I would never put them on anything of mine. Contrary to their name they don't flow that well and they are a cheaply made exhaust system. Borla was a close second but I think they might be a little to harsh for my wife's SUV that I got her to "tote the Grand kids around in". I wanted it to tow the motorcycles...LOL. She had a Magnaflow catback on her 07 Grand Prix GXP and liked them so I figured I'd go with something she already liked.

So would you say that Borla is the loudest/most aggressive? I was debating between that and the balstin bob's with the glasspack.

I just recently installed the blastin bobs with out the glass back. It sounds amazing. Did a side by side camparo with a friends rt durango and he agreed it sounds so much better. Not overly loud at idle just the right amount of throaty rumble.

I think I will be getting that. Everyone says they want something "tame" when cruising and only want it loud when they step on it. I'm like screw that, I want it loud all the time. lol

About 18 years ago I owned an 86 Suburban running almost straight pipes after the cats. The only mufflers it had where the old thrush turbo tube chambered pipes. It reminds me alot of the sound that truck had. You can hear me coming. you can definatly hear me when i put my foot to the floor. Doesnt drone on the highway. I made a couple of vids I posted in the facebook group. I'll see if I can post them here somehow.
