Yes, you read that right. I just finished converting my R/T Durango to a hellcat…
if you look back at my earlier posts I blew my 5.7 after putting a whipplecharger on it running 12 lbs of boost. I anticipated that and planned on building a custom stroker but luck was on my side. My tuner stumbled across a rolled over Jeep trackhawk so we performed the transplant. It took over a year to build and almost complete.
we took the entire drive train and installed it in the Durango. Everything fit perfectly except for the driveshaft. We had to get that custom. Also the wiring harness was very different. My RT did not have auto sensing cruise control so we had to retrofit that into the body and make sure the Durango stuff worked. The only things left outstanding is a windshield replacement to allow the cruise control to work properly and the stereo system kind of sucks because it’s looking for the premium Harman Cardin set up and my Durango had the premium beats set up. I also had bodywork done to put 2018 SRT wheel flares and rocker panels and rear valance and painted the same crystal black as the rest of the vehicle. The only part I did not replace on the body was the top spoiler.
The track hawk had a few upgrades including a smaller pulley better cold air intake custom headers and cat delete.
I am still doing some work on my driving to get better times but my best 0 to 60 is 3.6 seconds. My quarter-mile Was 11.68 at 118.5 mph.
