X 2 on what TFH said. Are the batteries in your '18 original? If so, have both tested and replace both if either come back less than 100% This should be done before you throw any other parts at it.

The voltage will fluctuate with the given load? It should not drop that low though with the engine running. I'd get the batteries tested, then move onto the charging system if they come back ok.

"Ah yes, the good old slipping alternator clutch trick". (It's more humorous if you read that in the voice of Maxwell Smart)! It's been a while since I lave dealt that that. So long, that I had forgotten about them.

The 4.6: engines in the interceptors had them, and they would fail now and then.
