Ok so far the only thing I have been able to find is the AFE intake, which is outrageously expensive lol (if thats all there is than thats all there is)
But I am wondering if there is something else out there?

Anyone with the 18+ sport hood know of anything?

I will see what they say, I dont know how much I like the idea of not having a box around the filter itself that has been the biggest concern with legmaker for me. at least a heat shield for the motor side of things.

Hey Craig, I got in touch with K&N the other day and was getting a lot of push back on purchasing individual parts of a kit. After sizing up just three of the parts he said that we were already at $130 or so for the parts, not including of course getting the SRT lower box parts for about another $80-100. He did tell me that I could mention to a salesperson that he would give me a discount for $230 on the full kit.

I am not sure if anyone else has tried to very recently attempt this as well but I would be curious as to their experience(s).

On a side note, in doing research it looks like the AF Dynamic kit on Ebay for ~$150 is identical to the Mopar setup.

So a rough estimate with the LMI intake plus his part for the rain shield would be roughly $325? And the AFE’s run $400 to $465? I would venture to guess the purpose made CAI for the 2018 R/T would probably be higher than my estimate but I would still go with LMI. His reputation speaks for itself I think. Once again I honestly don’t even have one of his products but designed my own CAI around his design for the 6.1 Hemi in my Charger SRT8. Hopefully you find your solution soon!

Me too, I thought about using one of the open filters with a sock and then maybe a piece of Lexan Plexiglas over most of the heat extractor to divert water??

Anyone have thoughts on this? I think getting a CAI then putting it back into a sealed box is a waste of money lol LMI would be nice because its just a piece of material over the filter not fully boxed in and sealed.

The company Outerwears makes a material that is air permeable but not liquid permeable. I had a filter sock of their’s and ran it under a faucet with my hand inside and my hand didn’t get wet. Higher pressure streams will get through as far as I know. Maybe you could contact them about fitting a section around the air inlet to protect the filter? I think they can sell sheets of it for such an application. Worth a look regardless of a CAI or not IMO. I never liked the idea of the Hellcat style hood where things could very directly get wet.

I know people are concerned with water getting to the filter, but can't you just put a DryCharger cover on it? It doesn't restrict airflow and should repel any water that would fall on it... I had an exposed air filter on my snorkel in my jeep and ran that cover on it. never had any issues and it saw plenty of rain and splashes...

I know, I am probably being a little over-paranoid. I live in Oregon, it rains 8-9 months a year that's a lot of pressure on a thin membrane that isn't technically "waterproof" but water resistant.
These vents are directly over 2/3rds of the filter box and the hood is shaped to where water would run down the hood into a gully to the vents if that makes since, its almost like they want water to go into them lol

Whats an Ebay coupon code? lol

I get emails all the time for 10, 15, 20% off any order. I used one to get a new afe intake. Saved over $60, then got about another $10 from ebates for the purchase.
How do you sign up for that?

Did you mention anything when you ordered it? where did you order it from?
