I am considering a new 2017 SXT as a work vehicle. I carry lots of test equipment and visit radio tower sites in somewhat difficult locations, and the AWD SXT seemed to be a good fit. I do have a couple of questions. I require a hitch for towing, and the unit I am looking at is not equipped with one. The dealer has offered to install the hitch and factory wiring harness, and has assured me this is the only things missing from the tow package. I asked about upgraded cooling/transmission cooler, and was told they were already included on the base model. Is this the case?

Second, I am interested in the remote start feature. I have had a Ram P/U and Caravan with this, and have found it to be more useful that I first thought it would be. Is it possible to add the factory remote start kit to this vehicle?

Last, the unit we drove was equipped with the 8.4 uconnect radio, but does not appear to have the option for HD Radio. This is not a deal breaker, but it would be nice to have. I also understand that the 8.4 can be upgraded to provide navigation. How good is the navigation option compared to the map function on my cell? Can this be done after delivery?

I guess I am questioning if the SXT is actually the right fit...I definitely want the V6 and AWD. Would I be better off to upgrade the SXT for the items it is missing, or should I be looking at a different trim level? The SXT is an amazing vehicle! This will only be used to haul the family (3 grandkids) on rare occassions, so i am not sure the DVD player on an upgraded trim level would see much use.

Thanks for your thoughts!

I have a 2014 SXT ... I added navigation. Dealer charged me $550 and it included a certificate for 1 free ($150 normal cost) map upgrade which I can use in a few years. Took about 20 minutes for them to do.

I added the factory hitch and wiring harness. Mine DID NOT come with HD radiator. I limit myself to 3500 pounds towing.

I have been told that remote start can be added .... but with the heated seats and steering wheel, I find I really don't need it.
