RFID Anti Theft Protection Installed

Won’t go into much detail (for obvious reasons) about the install but this allows me to provide extra security at the swipe of a RFID tag or manual switch.

Got it from eBay: RFID Reader transponder access control 3 mode relay momentery and flip flop | eBay

Both boards fit into an ABS box instead of original box that came with the kit

Connection from the RFID module spliced into factory wiring

Removed the mini floor console and put together and wired up the 2nd row center console. This was not an option from the factory so I had to do some wiring from the front center console to the rear for all the electrical to function (USB charging port, cigarette lighter outlet and ambient lighting).

Found a plug on eBay that was compatible with the factory plug coming out of the bottom of the console.

Removed 2nd row armrests because the console lid would not function properly. If your DD comes with a 2nd row console from the factory the middle row seats do not come with armrests. I had to plug the holes in the leather with plastic grommets and remove the armrest bracket.

Installed the BWoody Trackhawk rear sway bar endlinks (had the regular Durango ones previously), Bilstein rear 4600 shocks with a 1” Teraflex coil spring spacer (removed lid leveling shocks) and my own custom rear adjustable control arms.

Trackhawk endlinks are curved to account for the different geometry of the Eibach Trackhawk rear sway bar.

This update is painful as I had an oops moment and had to repair damage that I caused myself

I was roughly dialing in my rear alignment after the installation of above mentioned suspension components. I forgot to take out the camber/caster tool before backing out the driveway. Wrecked my rear Brembo caliper and wheel.

So I turned this really stupid event that happened and made it into something better! See next post(s) on my fix and upgrade

After wreaking my rear Brembo caliper (see previous post) I decided I wanted to obviously fix it myself as I wasn’t paying $300+ for a replacement. I also decided it was time to change the Brembo decal color and protect the face of the calipers from the road debris.

I sanded down ALL 4 Brembo caliper faces to remove the silver Brembo decals. Only drivers side is shown. Then masked them off for paint.

I painted the calipers with what I believe is a perfect match to the original Brembo caliper red from the factory. You be the judge

Battery died while I was on vacation. The load test revealed it was reading like a 6V battery () and could only hold a 1% charge (). So I upgraded from the H7 size to the H8 size. It required me to get a different tie down bracket since the H8 battery is larger

*Note: I do not have auto stop start in my Durango which means I do not have the auxiliary battery. That would require a different bracket than the one you see below.

If you have followed my build thread from the beginning I have had many different air intake setups (5.7L factory > Volant > 6.4L factory > AFE Momentum Magnum Force for DDSRT). This is the latest after I figured I would not be able to properly do a custom carbon fiber cold air intake due to space restrictions in the engine bay and I wasn’t going to hack up anything to accomplish that.

Starting in 2021 the heated and cooled seats had 3 different settings (low/medium/high) compared to 2 settings (low/high) in previous model years. Because I have an aftermarket radio that is programmed to retain all factory functions I was able to swap out my 2016 heated seat control model for the 2021 version.

I had to do some de-pinning and re-pinning on connectors C5 & C6 and also switch two wires in connector C1. The two modules are pinned different so I had to make the wiring harness from 2016 match the 2021 module.

2021 (top) vs 2016 (bottom)

I have included a side-by-side picture for each connector. 2016 is on the left and 2021 on the right.

I need to swap two wires in C1 and swap C5 (body side) into C6 module location and then C6 (body side) into C5 module location also needing to be de-pinned and re-pinned into the proper terminals.

Here are the comparison pictures of how my 2016 is wired compared to the 2021.

End result

2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Instrument Panel/Cluster swap. It is plug and play but MUST enable SRT performance pages and SRT mode through Tazer.

Odometer (mileage) can be corrected with pre 2020 clusters with AlfaOBD. I found this out after I purchased so until AlfaOBD gets updated the mileage will not match the actual engine/body mileage. Apparently FCA changed software after 2019

Disassembled and painted one “platinum” piece matte black.

Assembled
