Placed our order on Nov 21st, 2016 Durango R/T (Redline) with tow, tech and sunroof

Went into D1 status around mid Dec with estimated ship date of Jan 18th
Jan 4th was still D1 with estimated ship of Jan 12th
Jan 11th it was E status
Jan 12th it was G status
Jan 13th (today), it is I status with estimated dealer arrival between Jan 18th - Jan 24th

I just went to: Dodge Website, clicked the "Equipment Listing" link on the left side, and entered my VIN to view the build sheet.
On page 8, it lists:
  • 1-Yr. SiriusXM Radio Service
  • 1 Yr. Trial (Registration Required)
  • 5-Year SiriusXM Traffic Service
  • 5-Year SiriusXM Travel Link Service

So it looks like the 2016 models will still in fact have the 5 year traffic and travel link trial subscriptions.

Comparing the build sheet on my 2012 Crew to the 2016 R/T .... both have the Tow Group IV, although the 2012 Tow Group IV included a 220 amp alternator, while the 2016 Tow Group appears to still have the standard 180 amp alternator.

I would have expected a larger alternator in the 2016 due to the Tow Group IV.

Strange ... are you in Canada then? Maybe it's due to import/customs red tape ... I could see it being advantageous to import as many as possible in one shipment, rather than a "ship-when-ready" type approach.

Either that or its really screwed up. The dealer was pretty sure it would be to ensure the truck was full. We are only a few hours from the plant. And the Brampton plant where they would likely Depot is an hour and a half from us. The worst part, other than driving my junky van in the winter, is the wait.

I've been waiting for mine since mid November. You shop vicariously through us and I will drive vicariously through you! I tried a hobby. Three kids later I quit. Way too expensive! Thinking a boat would've been cheaper, quieter and if the blower stops, you just get another one to do it for you[emoji6]

Mine is still in JS status today, although it was updated this morning and the estimated arrival date was changed from "Jan 18 - Jan 25" to "not yet determined".
Not sure what would cause that though?

Our order just went to "D" status and was assigned a VIN. Feel like my forth child has just been conceived, but strangely I wasn't there for it.

Any guess on its arrival to the dealer here in California? We have a road trip planned for Easter (mid March this year) and really want to be in our new baby.

Our last order in 2015 took 28 Days from order placed to dealership. This order which was placed Dec 6th looks like it will take 60days. However beginning of new MY probably delayed it 3 weeks. I don't think they started production on the 2016 Durango until very near Christmas time.

Ours went into KZ status this morning, so it appears to be loaded and on the way. The Estimated ETA still shows TBD though.

Ok, show some photo's... how is the new 2016?

I was hoping for an incentive as well. Looks like it's not going to happen though. Has anyone called the Chrysler incentive line to check yet?

Yeah. This lack of available information drove me to wait, and wait, and wait while FCA teased info (like Carplay/AAuto), and "insiders" provided like Start/Stop and new Pentastar rumors. Now they are virtually through first-run manufacturing and they STILL can't provide any concrete info? Oh brother...at this point my wife and I are both looking at the new Pacifica though, if they continue like this, I won't have any info on that until 90 days after they show up at dealers...haha....

Something's not right there. $41,995 is the base MSRP on the 2016 R/T, and that one lists rear captains and tow group. Wonder if they think it's a 2016 when it's really a 2015?

Yeah that's kinda funny. I wonder how dealers explain that one away to their customers. Maybe they're subsidizing everyone else's destination charge.

Thanks ... My dealer texted me earlier today and told me about this one too. So that, in combination with our $500 mailer, is $1250 off for the 2016.

Stoopalini, what is your dealer telling you about the expiration date of Feb 1st on your $500 mailer? My dealer claims that they can apply any incentives after the car is invoiced (which I believe is KZ status). But they also claimed that they have to apply all incentives at the same time. In other words, I can either get the $500 plus $750 in January, or wait until February to see if the $750 gets any better (but lose the $500).

In my opinion, it seems unlikely that the $750 will increase to more than $1250, so I will go with January incentives. This assumes that my car gets invoiced before Feb 1st.

My understanding on incentives on an ordered vehicle is that you can select from the incentives available when you placed your order OR the incentives available when you take delivery. But I have no authority on that.

As an aside, I don't know how incentives on "vehicles in dealer inventory" apply, and how incentives that have a "must take delivery by" date work in this situation.
