Anyone know if the steering wheel from a 2014 SRT8 Grand Cherokee will fit on our 2014 Durangos? I got some seat time in a Grand Chrokee and absolutely loved how the steering wheel felt. The airbag and buttons look the same, just wondering if the actual steering wheel is interchangeable.

Yeah it looks like it will work
I used a SRT8 Challenger wheel in my D
The process to change it is not difficult but tedious and care need to be taken
Disconnect Battery before you start.
When you get the wheel, you will utilize almost all your plastic trim pieces from wheel

Does the SRT wheel come with the airbag cover? Or do you need to buy it separately? I would definitely consider this.

You can use your Dodge Airbag

Can you swap the SRT cover onto the Durango airbag? Has anyone posted a DIY?

I was more just curious. I probably wouldn't do the SRT cover/bag. I don't think it's really false advertising. The part is, after all, from an SRT. Not like you are swapping a ******-H for a regular one, and trying to pass off an Elantra as a Civic.

I was hoping someone had done a DIY on the wheel swap. Just want to know how much time to devote to the install.

That is the swap I did going to the red one.
20-25 mins max.

Anyone have the part number for the 2014 SRT wheel?

I saw it there too, but it would be nice to have the PN so I can shop around.

I have the wheel and my mechanic was in the process of removing the airbag from the original wheel and it would not come off! We checked the directions and we still could not remove it. Looks like there is a special airbag removal tool we did not have. We have the tool now and looks like my SRT8 gets installed on Monday. Pics to come later!

Mine is still waiting in the garage for me to be sure it's not heading to the great "lemon law" car heaven.

When I first saw this and knowing that I was going to do SRT Spider monkeys and Brembos it's a must have mod. Not that the stock Durango steering wheel is bad, it's just NOT sporty. No contour at all. Many less sporty SUV's have far more contour to the steering wheel in the higher trim levels. I went back and forth with using the dodge or SRT airbag and I going to go with the SRT one. Like "S-Line" for Audi, not really an S4 but styling cues and some performance parts. Probably won't badge the back with the "SRT Design" badge but still up in the air on that one.

UFO: I thought you just had a faulty JGC srt wheel which was why your heat didn't work? You are running a charger one now so all functions work?

Cbowens: Looking forward to you getting yours done so I can hear for sure if the heat element is hooked up or not.

I thought the JGC SRT wheel was faulty. I am running a 2015 charger SRT one and it works 100%. I then got another 2014/2015 Jeep SRT wheel, i swear i tested it and the heat did not work. But its been a while. I'll test it again when i swap in hydrodipped steering wheel pieces i should have in maybe 2 weeks.
