Ok Here's the 2007 Plant tour sign ups and info page!
The 2007 Durango Plant tour will be on October 19th in Newark Delaware.
The tour will be on Friday the 19th of October starting at 9-930 AM.
We have made arrangements for a Block of Rooms at the Sleep Inn in Newark, Delaware.
We'll start our annual event as usual with Most arriving on Thursday afternoon. This is usually followed by a kickoff dinner (dining information to follow) and is usually attended by a few Plant Staff as well. Dinner is usually followed up by a Durango Schmooze where we can all talk D and put faces to names that we have never met in person.
Friday Morning we'll line up at the Hotel for a convoy to the Newark Plant.
This Year we're attempting to add an addittional item to our agenda for Plant tour Day. We're working on, with the help of Jo Ann from the Durango Plant, A special Tour of the Mopar Parts Distribution Center next door to the Plant. The Plant usually runs from about 930am -1230pm which includes a Great Luncheon put on for us by Plant Staff.
The Hotel Info is as follows and please make reservations as soon as you know you'll be attending. Also Add your name to the list below please copy and paste to keep the form flowing.
The hotel is the SLEEP INN. Make your reservations now by calling 302-453-1700 and using the code DURANGO OWNERS CLUB. The rate is $69 per night + tax and includes a continental Breakfast each day.

As with every years plant tours there'll be a $20 fee for members and a $30 for non members which includes a 1 Year Membership in the DOC. Monies can be sent to the DOC Paypal Address DOCMembership07@durangoclub.com

They're looking for us to have around 50 people max but said we can be a bit over if necessary

What time are most of you expecting to arrive? I'll probably be there quite early. Plan to leave my house around 10am-ish to try and get the least amount of traffic. I'm guessing I'll be there by 2ish or so.

I'm in the same boat. I've got to wait for the wife to get home from a meeting before we can head north. I'm planning on arriving around 4ish? (the good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise.)

No, he knows of a company that would help me.
Oh I See
Make sure its properly set up for the job
Unfortunately when I used to show my other truck heavily there were many that were destroyed because of Improper Tow set ups. Don't want to see that happen to you.
TAke Your Time No worries on arrivals

Yes it's a weld on plate. I have the replacement, I just don't have time to get the old one cut off and then respray the line-x for that part of the carrier. So I guess it'll have to be naked. I just hate to put the spare back because the diff cover looks so good without the spare in the way.

Another reason to go to a solid axle up front. Get the stup pattern up to 5on5" pattern all the way around, then I won't have any trouble finding rims for the D.

Odie, there'll be plenty of us to ride with? Looks like my wife won't be going to the plant tour, so I'll have a spot in truck?

I'll be coming from Columbia, MD with a brief stop home before coming up to Newark? Should be there in time for dinner. And of course I'll be there early for the meet before the plant tour?

What time is dinner Thursday and where?

Losers.

Assuming I can go? here's the latest. The wife is NOT coming. She has a Stats test on Saturday that she can't get out of (she's attending IU's Kelley School of Business.) I'm trying to talk my son into coming with me instead so I don't do it again solo (he's 16.) That's quite the haul for me each way all solo. At least Mike gets to enjoy the road like me this year. :)

Pending we can go (it all depends on this Saturday's outcome)? we have to leave Wednesday at 6PM. Drive until midnight. Sleep in West Virginia about 20 miles on the other side of Ohio. Wake at 7am, on the road at 8am, arrive about 3PM. Check in, leave to go wash and shine the D, get back at 5ish and enjoy the festivities from there. With my son there, no bar hoping like last year after the tour days events? unless we go places that allow kids in the there too. UNLESS we find a bar needing an impromptu drummer to sit in? if so, my son could fit in perfectly in that setting. You should see the gals who pop up as rock groupies. :)

Looks like y'all are doomed to yet another gathering without a PURPLE D, unless Durangutan steps up? (Dude- Go! Trust me!)
OK, I'm wayyyy late on this, I know. I can't go. Anyway, who wants to see a stock 98 purple D with stock little ugly wheels and rust above the rear wheel? Well, besides me. I'd love to go sometime though.

Plant FYI!! I heard last night on the news about a possible strike at some of the Chrysler plants including maybe Newark. To happen sometime this week. If they do, will this effect the tour adgenda for our meet assuming the strike will last that long? Steve, if you have any insider info on this matter please pass it on to us.

Hey Odie I'm flying solo like always, so if you need a ride over to the plant or back let me know. Or like someoe else said. Drive it over with them and leave her bring the D back.

They (Chrysler employees) may strike tomorrow. With GM, it was a 2 day deal (walkout) and hadn't happen for 2 decades. I'd be shocked to find out they (Chrysler workers) would be on strike for 10+ days. Keep in mind however, if they (the new owners) have an inventory glut? a couple of days with no production, added debt to the unions (strike pay) and getting the consessions they're looking for could be well worth it for them to have a strike for at least a few days. I'm betting it'll still be touch and go come tour time.
