Gentlemen.

It's been a while,
and I hope everybody is well.

I drove my truck down to the gas station.
Set the pump to fill.
Went into the store.
Came back out.
Crank no start.

Tinkered a little at the gas station,
and eventually got it towed.

I have an Autel that I bought to bleed the brakes when I replaced the hoses and calipers.
And I did a code read, but nothing caught my eye.
However, a lot of the codes can't be read unless the engine is running.

I've looked around on YouTube and the possible reasons are numerous.

Jump in if you have any ideas.

Have a great night,

Ian

Ya know, I'll just drive the truck slowly . . .
Okay, that's not true. LOL

In other news, that electrical connector on the front of the tank:
challenging!

I got it off without breaking it,
but the locking pin got destroyed in the process.
However, I really don't think this thing needs a locking pin,
considering how gorilla tight it was to get off.

Big Blue was California born,
and is now living in Arizona.
So she's pretty clean all around.

It's funny, I basically had to take a trip to either Harbor Freight or O'Reilly's for every connector on the tank.
I will say this, getting the exact right pliers for each connector makes all the difference.
I also bought a transmission jack to lower it and raise it,
and tied my flat dolly to it.
That worked good.

I'll keep you'll posted.

Aaaaannnndd . . . success!

Got it all back together today,
and she started right up.
Very happy.

I got a little Tupperware to put on,
and a wheel,
and then I'm good to go.

I did buy a Transmission Jack and an adapter.
I recommend it.
I cannot imagine get all the connectors undone with a full tank of gas.
The Transmission Jack allows for small adjustments which are a critical part of the procedure.

Hope everybody had an excellent Thanksgiving.
And I hope you all turned your phones sideways while video taping the brawls on Black Friday!

I believe there was an option for that on the Gen 2. Folks here have commented about removing them to access the underside for repairs. I don't think of the Gen 2 as a serious off road vehicle, but some folks to take them there.

This NAPA pump appears to be made (or sold) to them by Bosch. IIRC, NAPA has pretty good warranties on their parts, so I'd run it without hesitation, especially since the oem Mopar pump seems to be no longer made. The last Gen 2 rolled out of Newark in early '09, so we are almost 13 years past that mark.
