Alright so it has almost been 2 weeks since we have picked up our new D and thus far it has gotten about 1,000 miles on it.

We have been super happy with the D but a few things that pop up as annoying to me are.

Navigation
So we have two Garmin's sitting around the house we always use for tripe and they work wonderfully (except one we call her Dori). The issue I have wit the on board navigation is that when setting a destination it adds like 1-2 hours onto the time compared to the Garmin's. For example today the fiancee had to go to St Louis which is about two hours away. She input the address around 10:30 and the arrival time said 1:30. The same as when we went to pick up the D. We took our Garmin with then and used both just to see how they stacked up.

The trip from our dealer to our house is about 5 hours and on board GPS had us arriving about 1.5 hours after the Garmin had us arriving and the routes were the same. I suppose this is nice for 5+ hour trips because between traffic and stops we usually add an hour to every 5-6 hours.

Bass

So as everyone has mentioned the bass is a little much I would agree but its not completely unbearable. I can live with it and it doesn't drive me bonkers but i can see how those who are "sound" guys/gals would go bonkers. Honestly anything beats my Caliber and my truck which had only 1 working speaker.

Some of the things I love are

Key-less Entry
This is by far the coolest thing ever. Unless i want to remotley start the vehicle the only time i need to touch my keys are when i put them in my pocket. Being able to walk up to the car and have it unlock and push a button on the door to lock the doors after getting my little one out is just amazing.

Even when I want to remote start the car I can do it from my phone (for a year at least). Sure it takes 3 minutes but when leaving work i can start the car from my office and by the time I have everything locked up the car is started. Then by the time i walk to the front of the building clock out get my stuff and walk to my car its warm and ready to go.

Engine
I am beyond stoked that I chose the R/T model its just amazing. This thing can zoom right thru traffic no issues, it is always a head turner and I have almost gotten pulled over already. I have had a few people try and race me or they romp on the gas to make their exhaust sound close to mine. Sure the Corsa might come to my D one day but right now the stock exhaust still gives me butterflies.

Their is so so much more that I love about the D but i am sure you all know how that is.

Chase, in the settings there's a setting in there to change your "average" speed based on what type of road your on, this is what the unit bases the arrival time on. I would try upping those settings until it matches the Garmin, I set mine to like 70 or 75 on the highway and it's pretty accurate.

Thanks Paul ill take my Garmin out and put in a destination and try to get them to match up. We are just so used to the Garmin's settings.

Must be the setting....my 730 is always real close to accurate with arrival time. Should be an easy remedy.

Yes, the HEMI is addictive, especially after a couple mods. :) Glad you're enjoying it!

Yes i am looking forward to modding it but just need some way to justify it. The fiancee says "You are not modding the new car its perfect as is". Just got our Weather Tech mats now waiting for a good opportunity to get the tint done and order soe cleaning supplies online.

I do want to get a CAI and the Diablo tuner as well as the 180 stat. Also considering the mud flaps and went visors but not sure how much i like them just yet.

I have a set of factory mud flaps that were on for about 10k miles. There's a little road construction tar on a couple of them, but if you want, you could have them for an Andrew Jackson plus shipping costs.

I had a tough time justifying the CAI to myself. I was used to using ebay versions for other cars and spending $75 each. $300 was a tough pill, but well worth it.
The tuner surprised me with the difference it made, even after reading all the reviews.

I have vent-visors on my Ram, but decided not to on the Durango.

Justify it? Tell her these exact words " woman, I am the man and I do what I want, now get in the kitchen and bake me a pie!"[emoji3]

Ok, it's probably not a good idea to follow my advice, so just drop the "bake me a pie" comment and you should be good.

You really don't think I have already ascertained that your advice is going to get me into big trouble?

I completely agree with your assessment regarding the engine, bass, keyless entry, etc. I'm having an absolute blast with this vehicle and so far (knock-knock) am absolutely thrilled with it.

Might I also throw in the comfort and quietness of the cabin? The volume of the interior space considering it's not nearly as large as some other SUVs in the "large" category?

Well, your are smarter than the average bear...
I got into trouble today because of a freaking battery?

The red dot on my AR-15 takes a CR2 battery and Wal*Mart doeskin have them. At work they want $10 for 2. Lynsie asked me if I bought any yet and i explained I found some on Amazon $10 for 4 with free shipping on orders $35 or more. So I explained I was just going to wait until I had a few other things to order (trying to find a good time to order cleaning supplies).

She was like "Excuse me, what are you planning on buying?" I said "Oh nothing yet but im sure we will get something on Amazon before to long" woah not the time to tell her.

She is upset since December I have acquired 5 guns (1 on which is hers), a 24 gun safe, a 16 foot utility trailer, and I built myself a new PC which wasn't cheap.

Now she is saying that i bought a 45k car which i reality was her idea.

I have to agree my Caliber was so terrible with road noise. I jumped in it the other day to go to work and i was so bored and un enthused.

The only thing that bothers me that people that ride passenger screw with the lumbar settings. Both my fiancee and her mom seem to think its comfortable with the lumbar all the way out. I jumped in the car today after the fiancee and her mom took a trip and i swear i have a 2 liter between me and the chair.

Aside from that its AH-MAZING lol.

I came from driving a loaded Xterra.. Which I loved and had no payments on for the last 3 years... I test drove quite a few other vehicles during the final months with it and never bought because I wanted to stay in the same price range, refused to drive anything with only 4 cylinders, and refused to drive something smaller, or way bigger. I also like the ruggedness of it; no worries about hauling 250 pavers in it. And I didnnt think id enjoy one that wasn't as high off the ground as the X was... I'd never even considered a dodge... One Sunday, saw an ad in the paper for the dealer ship that's 3 blocks from my house... Saw the amazing review on Consumer Reports... Went over there... Test drove the Journey, then the Durango... And was sold. Made the purchase that afternoon... Rest is happy history.

We have always been Dodge fans and when we bought the Caliber I told her that the next vehicle was my choice (hated the Caliber t begin with but she just had to have it) the Caliber eventually grew on me and now that its paid off its oing to be out cheap car until we decide we should sell it and get something else.

I wanted a RAM 2500 mega cab and always have wanted one but with a growing family I decided it wasn't the most feasible of vehicles. We test drove one 2015 Durango limited with the v6 and its was great. We never drove the v8 hemi until ours got to the dealer and boy its a world of difference.

I get it man. I feel your pain

I am also 2 weeks in and 1200 miles. The only thing that annoys me at this time is the GPS only showing distance or time left or estimated time of arrival. I haven't played with it yet but I prefer to know estimated time and distance to my destination. Other than that I love my RT and the Hemi....

Guns always have a value. God forbid you would ever have to use them to protect you guys, you will go buy 5 more the next day.

Tell your wife her life would be boring if you didn't buy random stuff that she might get upset about.
Life is a compromise she is mad now and you will be mad when she wants to put 20k into the kitchen

I think she has started to realize that. I don't generally buy expensive stuff but when you can get 3 nice guns (AK-47, M1 Carbine, .22 mag revolver) for $500 and a 16' trailer and gun safe for $900 how the hell can you pass up that opportunity?

I told her that if she would have stopped shocking me while I was on the PC the old one would have never fried causing me to build a new one. She thought it was funny to sneak up on me and shock me but after a few good shocks and having the jolt go thru my finger into the mouse I knew that was going to end badly eventually and it did.

So it is all her fault. Might I add I bought the guns from her friend whose husband past away.

So I blame her for all of my recent expenses.
