As stated I have an issue with my power liftgate. Whether I use the button on the FOB, button inside on the overhead console, or pull the handle to initiate the lift, it unlatches and barely moves, then will return back and lock. I've only had the D for 2 weeks and it's done it more than the times it actually opens. It will open if I use the latch in the back and help it up a bit. Once in a while I'll get lucky and it will work from any of the buttons pressed for it. I've searched the forum and seen most have other issues but nothing as I have described. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the shock on the right is worn out and needs to be replaced, that is if it won't hold the liftgate up. Otherwise, your power lift is bad.

See that's the thing, it will hold up once it opens. It stays up with no issue. If I press the button to close either inside front or rear, it will close fine. I will double check the right shock either way.

It's the power lift cylinder that is bad.

Well today I checked the right shock and it seems to be OK. Also, the 2-3times I used it via button worked fine. Maybe it's getting used to being used again for all I know.
