While on a roadtrip this weekend, I randomly stumbled across this 2020 R/T in my favorite color, green. I was planning to purchase a new Durango later this year but these green ones trigger an emotional response in me especially because they discontinued this color. Question for the forum, is this a good deal? Essentially $29k for 75,000 miles. Seems like a lot of miles but this is a rural area so plausible if it was being used as a commuter. Interior was clean and it appeared in great condition. If I can afford new, is that the better choice when getting into a Hemi, or can I scratch this emotional itch with this mid-mileage green machine?
Thanks in advance!

OK,
I just looked over the 2020 and it's awesome looking. This is really the bottom line
You can't get F8 Green in a new one.
The new ones are brand new and have a full factory warranty.
They also have the latest Tech and the Connect 5 is really nice.
The Redesign of the interior on the new ones is really nice.
The 2020 was the last year of that interior and exterior styling.

Is there a new color that also gives you an emotional response? I know all to well exactly what that means as that is just as important as anything else. Frostbite does that to me but so does White Knuckle. I have a lot of awesome memories in my 2017 R/T what what White.

The miles don't really scare me that much as long as it has a service history. Keeping the oil changes etc is essential to long levity of these engines.

It doesn't matter if you can afford a new one if you don't care for it like this F8 Green one does. It's very rare to see a F8 green Durango and I would have got one myself IF I found a SRT in that color. It's such a good color.

Hi Randy:
I have always love the B5 Blue as well as the F8 Green. 75k for a 5 year old vehicle is not considered high mileage by today's standards. The spec used to be 10-12k a year, but they have bumped that to 12-15k a year since vehicles cost more, and folks are driving more and keeping their cars longer.

If it's in great shape and the Carfax/service history looks good, I'd jump on it. You can get an MVP/Flexcare Dodge backed warranty for it, and be good to go.

Dodge updated the interior for '21. I prefer the '20 and older interior, which is why I bought a '20 SXT Plus. Had I seen this one though, it might have found it's way into my driveway!

Randy:
The Carfax looks very good! Also, this Durango was sold to the 2nd owner as a CPO (Certified Pre owned). The CPO gives it a 7 year 100k powertrain warranty from the original in service date which appears to be April of 2020.

So, you should have another 2ish years or 25k miles of powertrain warranty through that.

Have the dealer pull the service records for it. Carfax and Autocheck, etc miss a lot of details in their reports. You're looking for consistent maintenance. But you don't want anything with extended length maintenance intervals, i.e., 10,000 miles between oil changes. The service records will tell the entire story.

If the dealer refuses to do it, no problem. Go to another Dodge dealer and give them the VIN. Any dealer can do it, and it's a good way to learn more about the car you're interested in.

Compare this to what you get on Carvana for the same thing. This price sounds much better.

I don't really mean to gang up or join in on the enabling LOL, but I too really love the look of the DD in F8. 😂
I'm gonna join your gang go the NON enabling group with lots of LOVE for the F8 green. Not trying to steer anyone in anyway BUT just saying F8 green in general is a fantastic color choice, AND RARE on Durangos. I don't see many at all in that awesome BADASS color.

As Nontoxic brings up, the supplied Carfax does have quite a gap in oil changes (about 30k worth), but that may be able to be "splained."
Had this been available 2 years ago when I was searching, it might have found a home here. At the time though, an '18 V8 powered Durango in this mileage range was more than I wanted to spend.
Dodge also brought back the T shifter for '18. I did NOT want the knob in the '14-'17 models.
Can't say it enough, I just LOVE that F8 color!!!!!!!

An update. I was able to swing by the dealer for a few minutes yesterday on the way back from my family road trip. I was able to sit in it (spotless) and hear it start up and idle (no discernible tick over the course of idling from cold for about 5 minutes). Dealer claimed the car was local to the area and they have done the lions share of maintenance on it. I didn’t have time to discuss the records beyond that. Only issue is a pretty serious ding in the rear hatch right above the license plate. It looks like a bullet hole that did not penetrate. Bare metal showing but no rust so assuming it is aluminum. I don’t they show this in the website photos. I need to get rough quotes for repair bc I would want to fix this right away.

I paid the same about one year ago for a 2019. Around the same mileage, and I have had no regrets and no problems!

Smart advice!

Yep - love the color, but then I'm partial to greens anyway... aside from Guardsman Blue (wink-wink). Follow your heart and as long as you do your due diligence and everything checks, you'll be a happy camper and coin left over, too!

I don't like the color, But Hey, More power to you!
At $29K it is a fair deal. I would use the "ding" as a bargaining chip!
Ask the dealer to come down to 26K OR fix the "ding"

Dent removed + lipstick and mascara, will run you about $1500 (Chicagoland)
