Can’t wait 😜 to upgrade in a year or so to the SRT level , and yes I will daily drive it When weather permits, no hail , rain ok 👌, 🥶 winter only in emergency 🆘, just my thoughts guys , don’t hate on it

As in really driving it essentially every day for things like work, school, kid care etc.? I don't see how it's done and one keeps outta speeding trouble in the long haul (no pun! lol).

I'm an older dude and definitely not one to have little self control, or act impulsively, or generally show my a$$, or act rude. I believe most all my family would be quick to say I'm an overly kind and courteous driver. Heck, I'm that kind, softy sucker that always lets the a$$holes in that cut in line and run to the end/front of the merge LOL. I actually always slow down when I see someone is interesting in changing lanes ahead of me. I won't dare tailgate, and I get the heck outta the way, without any feeling of childish "defeat" or being slighted (or "yo you disrespected me" lol) if someone is just rude or selfish or pushy and tailgates me.

We drive it only on select weekends, and sweet baby Jesus it's just way too easy to innocently get to zoom speed without realizing it, and of course it's also hard to deny the pure visceral joy of that foot-rocket launch biofeedback loop that quickly and almost subconsciously gets established once under way. Yesterday outta the blue from the passenger seat my wife something like "you can just feel that it wants to take off and run, run, run, and it's almost like it needs a leash".

(ETA strangely thinking back, both my wife and I did not have this same feeling and experience when we were blessed to previously have a couple Scat Packs as weekend drivers. I can only guess (?) it may possibly be a visibility thing, because the seating is so much higher in the DD and the overall visibility is different, which of course allows for seeing that much more of what's around and going on around us. We're scratching our heads on this, as we would each not find ourselves as speed, unaware, in the Charger and Challenger like we do in the DD.)
I have a 2024 Night Moves 392 and it is a daily driver. Like someone else said it is a stress reliever. The sound and Feel of that V-8 never gets old. Cars are meant to be driven. The muscle cars of the 60's were driven in their heyday. People drove them to work and play like any other car. Now some of us tend to treat cars like fine china only bringing them out on special occasions if at all. Drive them and enjoy them while we can, because there will become a point in time when we will not be able to do that. And, I think the 392 or HC can be daily drivers. You just have to drive responsibly.

Well said sir !!! 👍 👍

I have never understood the concept of owning a vehicle, yet never or rarely driving it. To me part of the ownership is the joy of driving, especially if the vehicle has some muscle.

I knew a guy who owned an older Corvette and never drove it. The car just sat in his garage where he would dust it off from time to time. In the ten years that I knew him, not once did he drive it further than pulling it out/in the garage.

I own a 2020 Charger Scat pack in Pitch Black. It is NOT a daily driver and I take it out when I want to . I use it sometimes to go to the store for quick in and outs , I don't like leaving it anywhere for any given amount of time. I worry when I'm in the store if it's going to get stolen as they are highly stolen.
When you own a Garage queen as I do and don't daily drive it, they stay nicer as they are not on the road getting chips and rained on or driven in the snow. They are not getting daily dirt and grime on them so they stay cleaner longer. The miles are for smiles IMO as when I drive and have no where to go, it's the best driving. When you have to go places , some of that is one your mind especially parking lots. Never ever do I park near or next to anyone in fear of door dings.
So these are a few reasons why one like me would not daily drive their fun car.
I don't care about keeping the miles low. I drive it all I want and not worry about that. My Scat pack 2020 now has 28k miles on it . I got it brand new.

I think I may have mentioned this in another thread, but I saw your DDHC at that Manassas VA dealer before you bought it, and I was drooling over it and even took a couple pics of it. IMHO you've got one overwhelmingly incredible machine there. It must be kind of amazing knowing that when behind the wheel of her in traffic, there are very few machines you'll meet that can best ya in 0-60 and the quarter mile. I salute you Sir!
Haha! Thank you. I sold the 392 and wasn't planning on getting another vehicle so soon. I was going to hold off for a while, but got such a goo deal I couldn't pass it up. Not only that, I was able to do everything remotely, and they delivered the DDHC to my door step. Been driving my Bronco Raptor now as my daily the DDHC is a garage queen, for now.

Winter, Summer, Spring or Fall ...

Mine is driven 24/7, 365 days a year!

I have a 2024 Night Moves 392 and it is a daily driver ... it is a stress reliever. The sound and Feel of that V-8 never gets old ... Drive them and enjoy them while we can ... You just have to drive responsibly.
My evening rides when the sun goes down late are my "stress relievers" as well.

The V8 sound is the way to go, always has been for me (owned almost a dozen V8 Stangs).

But describe "responsibly"?;)

My Helly is my only vehicle but since I work from home I don't put a lot of miles on it though I probably drive most every day to the gym or store or golf but no long trips. The longest trip was when I bought at a dealer about 250 mi. away and drove it home. I've had it just over a year and a half and have about 8800 miles on it now.

I’m biased but the 392 is a better daily. Gets a little better fuel mileage, oil changes are easier, and get stolen less than the Hellcat stuff. The both vehicles are pretty great to drive though. Driving dynamics are completely different than non SRT products.

I may be biased too but I’ll take that extra 225 horsepower any day. Nothing beats the sound of that Supercharger winding up or the looks from people that hear it as you drive by. I’ve driven both, I’ll take the Hellcat. Just my preference. Let’s face it, they’re both nice vehicles. Nobody’s buying these things for miles per gallon. If that was the case, we’d all be shopping for RAV4 PHEV’s.🤣🤣

No argument there. I also have a TRX for Hellcat shenanigans.

For anyone concerned about driving their 392/6.2L in the snow, I can attest to how well my DDHC did this past winter taking me up to ski country from Denver every weekend.

I did put different wheels and tires on it that were better suited for winter driving, and with them I felt the DDHC did just as well in snowstorms as my 2017 Grand Cherokee trailhawk does. Of course I also didn't purposely try to do anything stupid, but obviously it snows up there frequently and yeah, there were at least a few nasty storms that I drove through, sometimes on 2-lane roads that were a sheet of ice and I never lost confidence in the truck.

I actually have a Vortech V3 Si-Trim boosted 2014 DD R/T in which I swapped a 6.4L crate engine intended originally for a challenger SRT w/ a 6 spd manual gearbox (ergo no MDS), with forged aluminum drop in pistons and rods resulting ina 9.7:1 compression ratio and the vehicle is and more importantly was my DD for taking the kids to school and picking them up from work and so on while I lived in the suburbs. Now I have moved back to Philly, so I don't drive anything every day now and I'm far more likely to ride my 2017 HD Iron 883 to work since the m/c corrals cost $5.00/day and Im only like 18 blocks from my office vs. the car/truck parking @ like 30+ a day.

The gas mileage was the biggest pain point. Also, because most of my trips didnt even get the engine up to temperature, I imagine having rings gapped for boost and pistons made of the lower silicon Aluiminum alloy that also rarely get up to temperature, there's probably some scuff marks on the sleeves from piston to sleeve clearance being "cold" too often and I certainly see a bit more blowby resultng in PCV output (or other venting such as from the oil pan dip stick before I put a filtered unidirectional vent on the oil fill neck, since the PCV valve remains closed under any boost to prevent boost from directly entering the crankcase through reverse flow on the PCV system due to pressures in intake > pressures in crankcase. I got anywhere from 8 to 12 mpg under these local, light-to-light, non-warmed-up drives: to hurry up and pull into the school pickup line and then sit around in stop-and-go traffic in the parking lot. Was it the best way to use my Durango, hell no... but when my partner lost her car, I was able to daily drive my motor-swapped R/T without critical issues/failures.

Oh, and the cats both melted internally and became stopped up. I think this probably had something to do with being used as a kid bus :)
