A Dodge dealer quoted me $1,115.00 plus tax to change two HID headlamps on my 2014 Citadel 5.7 V8
$460.68 for each of the HID’s, plus labor and tax.
At AutoZone or Advance Auto, the cost is $138.00 for one. I ordered them on Amazon for $ 59.99 each (Philips) and spent about half an hour installing them.
Watched several YouTube videos on how to install them. Although the videos are not very informative, they leave out important parts. Summing it all up, I gained a clear understanding of how to do it.

I also have a 2014 Citadel 3.6 V6 back in Switzerland. The dealer changed it a few years ago for $510, which included everything. Switzerland is a high-priced country, so I was stunned to be quoted more than double here in the US. Expected to be the opposite.

Nope. The US is all about how much they can fleece the customer for.

I bought a used 2016 Durango Citadel from a local BMW dealer who took it on a trade-in. Both of the headlights were intermittent and thinking the BCM needed a reflash had the local Dodge dealer check all the modules (there was a firmware recall that had not been perfomed) and they re-flashed the BCM but the problem remained. I did some research and the HIDs only last about 5000 hours. The dealer quoted $1000+ to replace both. I frowned at him and said he had lost his mind. Found the process for replacing them myself after a Google search. $150 later for two OSRAM bulbs and about an hour's worth of contortions and I got them replaced.
