Hey guys I'm having a hell of a time trying to take my SRT 392 Durango and put an exhaust on it. I just want a little bit of a deeper the throatier sound but it seems like all the Cat-Back system is made for this vehicle are super loud. I'm not sure whether the mid Muffler would drone as an option I'm not sure if we're moving the rear resonators and straight piping them would be a good option somebody please sent me straight.
HELP! Need quietish exhaust (overwhelmed)

If you mean, too loud (drone) on the inside, the anti-drone noise cancelling tuning is based on, among other things, having the spare tire kit installed. It may be my imagination, perhaps, but adding the spare tire and kit provided better interior noise cancelling. Or perhaps I got used to it!

I dont mean drone i mean I live in the suburbs with old ppl and they get pissed off with my loud exhaust, but personally I just want my srt a little louder any recommendations?
I have a Corsa sport on my 24'DDHC. I had one on my 2017 Jeep SRT8. It is just the right amount of volume for these vehicles without being obnoxious. The other to consider is a Magnaflow system which are usually a bit quiet but still louder than stock.
Either way, a cold start on these vehicles is not going to be quiet. It is a beautiful tone!

What's the part numbers for the magnaflow system for the 2024 srt 392

Rear resonators cancel out drone in the Hemi's and keep the Pentastar from being raspy. Which is why almost every cat-back system, at least all the good ones still have them and really are just changing the main muffler and typically but not always increasing the pipe size.

I heard changing the mid muffler causes drone....what do you replace it with
It's loud when you step on it, but quiet when cruising (and droneless), which is what it sounds like you want.
The Track kit is the loud one.
Now I will say that cold start and idle it's a decent bit louder (but deeper) but the second you put it into gear it gets nice and quiet.
So just start it with the garage door closed for a second.

I installed the Borla Atak system on my 2022 SRT 392. It sounds great at cold startup, and flat out nasty at WOT.
Borla has the S-type system that is a bit quieter.
It took me about 2-1/2 hours to change the systems out, most of that time was getting the OEM system off.

I put a Borla s-type on my wife's Wrangler and I'd say the AWE system is higher quality overall.
'Cause a lot of people will just remove it...you're best to install an engineered system from one of the quality manufacturers noted by members here such as Borla which I think makes the Mopar systems, Corsa, and sounds like AWE too. There may be a mid-muffler that works with the stock system, you'll need to search the treads here for feedback on that.
I stopped messing with NA exhaust systems once the OEM's went with stainless mandrel bent exhaust. Not much HP gain going to lower restrictive mufflers/resonators unless you turbo/supercharge.
If you want it quiet in the mornings then stock is what you need to stay with. Anything else will have more bark at startup. Your neighbors are wooses if that initial startup is what bothers them so much. I would explain to them that you have a factory exhaust, and they should be glad you don't have a Mustang.
If you are just looking for a deeper tone- the quickest, cheapest fix is to replace the mid-muffler with a custom H-pipe. Any local exhaust shop should be able to do that for you. Make sure they are welding the replacement pipe though and not just bolting something on. I don't have the SRT so I can't share a video with you, but mine is the TNG so it has the SRT exhaust and to me it sounds awesome with the H-pipe. Everyone has different opinions on sound though so here is what I found when replacing the mid-muffler - H-pipe will help torque and will be a deeper tone, X- pipe is going to be a higher pitch (think European sports cars) w/ supposedly more HP, and straight pipe is just going to be louder and will hit the old gas mileage a little bit (It MIGHT help HP and Torque, but never saw any data to support that.).
I had a Corsa catback system on a CTS-V a while back; I loved it....not too loud at startup and idle but when you opened it up you heard it. It was more of a raspy sound than a deep burble, but in a good way. Lots of burbling and popping when engine braking (manual transmission); again, in a good way. No drone at all. Not sure how they would sound on a 392, but I don't think it is any quieter than the factory systems. I don't think any performance exhaust would be much quieter at idle than the factory pipes.
I had Borla Stingers (axle-back) on a mustang GT. Hated em. Droned like mad at highway speeds, and the chrome on the tips started peeling after a year or so. Removed them, sold them, and installed Corsa's and was once again happy.
Again, not direct Durango data but I pass it along FWIW.
