I have a 2023 Durango GT that uses TomTom built-in navigation. When I first bought mine I had the trial version and had Traffic and Travel information on the nav screen. So things like traffic flow information, gas station prices, automatic updated POIs etc. The one time it told me there was an accident ahead and traffic was bad and asked if I would like it to re-route me.

I let the trial run out but recently decided I wanted to get that back. I have made over 20 phones calls between XM Guardian, XM Radio, Uconnect, Uconnect services, Dodge, Dealer service and Dealer sales.

I was told by XM Guardian it's part of the Remote package. So I renewed that and I wasn't getting the info. After multiple calls they said it's not part of Guardian it's part of XM Radio.

I call XM Radio and they said my radio is not compatible with XM Traffic and Travel. I said I had it, or something, when I first bought the car. After multiple calls we decide to activate it anyhow and it doesn't work. We did things like refresh the signal. They said to call the Dealer.

I talked to the Dealer Sales and after two calls they said yes, it's XM Traffic and Travel. I tell them XM said it's not compatible so they suggest I talk to Service.

I call Service and they said as long as the radio is working (I have XM radio and it is), there is nothing they can do.

I look on Dodge's website and it references certain models have TomTom navigation that will use TomTom Traffic and Travel. lower on the page they talk about XM.

So I call Uconnect since they reference a navigation package.

Uconnect support is hands down the worst I have ever dealt with in my lifetime. I explain about the TomTom and they just connect me to XM. I made multiple calls telling them to NOT transfer me to XM because they can't help. And they do it anyhow.

So I call Dodge to complain and to try and get someone in their Uconnect dept and they connect me to XM. Repeatedly. I demand to talk to a supervisor and they connect me to XM.

Yes I can use Android auto and Google Maps or Waze. I get that. I prefer to built-in one.

Does anyone with a 2023 or newer Durango using TomTom navigation have the Traffic and Travel info? Again, that's things like if there is heavy traffic the roads show red, slow traffic the roads show yellow etc.

And if you do is it XM or what?

BTW, this is actually the short version of what all I have been going through. I normally would have given up a while ago but now I just want to figure out this mystery.

Use Waze! And FWIW, Sirius Guardian controls mobile app functions, weather, SOS and god knows what other features like items in the Nav system
Sirius XM has nothing to do with anything but Sirius radio channels, period.
Screw Dodge and use waze.

I own a 2023 DDR/T+. I get the same results from all parties - finger pointing. Weather is not part of Guardian. Guardian is basically a "security" app - remote monitoring, remote start, theft, etc. No where in the Guardian info does it state anything about weather. I gave up on the "circle jerk" for weather. I use the NAV but it does not notify of accidents, reroutes, gas prices, etc. I don't know where the weather originated but it was included with the trial package. Another cluster.

When I first bought my 2014 all that kind of thing was working. After a while it stopped working and I couldn't figure out how to get it working again.

So I bought a cheap windshield mounted phone mount and use my phone + waze.

I think you can completely bypass the front screen and display android auto or carplay on it. But I haven't looked that closely + this would be something car stereo people would know much more about.

Here's how you do it...

On my 2014, I have SXM radio as well as traffic. It is an additional cost above the radio package - I think I pay $8 or $10 a year for it, but it absolutely comes from SXM.
I'm pretty sure this is what I had initially. The traffic functionality was OK (not great just ok). One of the things it also did was display all the sports scores which I kind of liked.

XM is awesome + dont know what I'd do without it. But, you can do everything XM does (except live sports) for free with apps like iheart. I think what I really like about XM is that its integrated into the radio + changing stations can be done quickly on the steering wheel.

FWIW I was on the phone with a rep from XM Guardian and XM radio at the same time. They both stated Traffic and Travel is an XM Radio function. To activate it I had to work with the XM radio rep (it didn't work though), not the XM Guardian. Period.

Yeah I'm kinda blown away at how nobody can help. I thought ok, maybe there was an over the air update and something got jacked up. I was hoping to speak with someone at Dodge in the radio/uconnect dept. And of course I get transferred to XM.

And I thought the dealer would have access to higher up support and be able to make some calls. Nope.

As I said, now I just want to find the answer just because. Yes I am using Waze but again, just want to figure this out just to do it.

I have a letter from Dodge reminding me that I subscribe to Dodge Connect, that it costs $9.99 monthly and includes the navigation package and comes with security and remote operation services. There are a couple of phone numbers, no idea if they're payment only or if you can get support.

Dodge Connect, through its Uconnect® system,
includes access to TomTom Live Traffic and Travel Services on select models equipped with the Navigation package

Here's what this means:
  • Real-time traffic information: You can receive live updates on traffic conditions, including congestion, closures, roadwork, and accidents, allowing you to choose the best routes and avoid delays.
  • Integrated navigation: The system offers turn-by-turn navigation that incorporates traffic data for accurate arrival times and rerouting.
  • Other connected services: TomTom Traffic and Travel Services also include information like speed camera alerts, fuel pricing, parking assistance, and weather forecasts.
888/289-8794
833/616-7527
800/4adodge (the google says this is a support number)

Wishing you the best of luck.

They are wrong, Traffic and Travel is Uconnect 4 not Uconnect 5. Sirius XM has nothing to do with the weather.

Those Dodge "All" electric vehicles are looking more and more promising aren't they.o_O
Especially when they'll sub out more and more portions to other suppliers.
Can't imagine the finger pointing and circle jerking the future holds.:p

Which vehicle do you have that on? I was reading that package is only for 2022 and older vehicles. Even though it sounds exactly what I want. I did call a couple times to see about having the navigation package activated and........ they transfer me to XM. It was a different number than what your letter says so I may try it. Thank you
