Hey all. First post here. I picked up a 2023 RT Plus tow and go last fall with 25K on it. Loving it so far! It’s white with the Ebony red seats. So far I’ve replaced the brake pads with power stops, added some WeatherTech mats and a Max-pider 3-D cargo mat. Also tinted the side markers and the front windows and ceramic coated it with a DIY five-year coating which was super easy to apply and is holding up great. It was de badged by the previous owner, which I like as it keeps people guessing what it is.

Not much planned as she’s still under warranty at 29K miles. I’m considering an extended warranty if I can find one at a reasonable price. Also, I’m looking to add a spare tire set up as I make a lot of trips up to Maine on a regular basis.

MD44:
Welcome to DDN, and congrats on the beautiful new to you D! I'm not a huge fan of white as a vehicle color, but the D is one that I think white works really well.

If you plan to keep it for say 10 years, adding a warranty extension is a popular choice. We have a few vendors here that sell them for a much better price than many of the dealers. Whatever you do, don't buy direct from the MVP folks because their pricing is crazy.

Also, I'm sure you love romping on the brakes, but hold onto your wallet when it comes time to replace pads and/or rotors.
If you can DIY those, you'll save quite a chunk. Some dealers have quoted $2k per axle!

Don brings up a good point of knowledge. If you DIY. when you come due for brakes, the easiest thing to do is look for same model year SRT brakes (380mm front / 350mm rear). So many of the parts stores and online sellers don't have the R/T parts references broken out into adjust for the TnG option. So you can find a TON of posts on here of TnG owners looking for brake recommendations and/or correct ones to order because they inadvertently got the wrong ones.

And the dealer crazy pricing is true! Part of it is extra labor cost at times, which is just a straight up mugging, because replacing pads and/or rotors on the Brembos is no more labor intensive nor time than the regular R/T brakes. Most of it is for the OEM parts, most of that which owners complain about for their brake dust and somewhat faster wear. I have an unpopular opinion to some, but the OEM brakes are junk in my opinion, and their pricing is insane. Like said, there are a ton of posts on here for you to search through and see what options there are when brakes come due. (which for some, has been at your mileage on OEM pads!) But aftermarket wise, the TnG pads and rotors are not crazy extra cost over the R/T (and in some rare cases, lower cost) unless you go to two-piece front rotors.

I’ve found the OEM brakes can scrub off enormous amounts of speed with minimum fade considering the weight. 🤷‍♂️

Don't get me wrong, the fronts are still 380mm Brembos on the TnG & Reg SRT with the 350mm rears, so they do perform great just from that aspect. The biggest complaint from owners by far is the dust aspect and fast wear, so I mean by the previous post of OEM being junk primarily from that aspect. Btw, you actually have 400mm 2-piece fronts on the DDHC, so a bit more premium than the OP's and mine. The TnG doesn't come with an option for two-piece front rotors, and it is either an option or part of the premium trim of the SRT, depending on model year/options/trims. I personally still was/am not a fan of the OEM pads/rotors and upgraded mine.

Thanks for the advice. I already replaced the pads all around with Powerstops. I bought the pads after looking here for recommendations and had my local guy do it. The brake dust on the white was driving me crazy!! Performance is good but I get a little squeal when backing up slow sometimes.

Thanks. I didn’t want white but TnGs are hard to find around here so I settled a bit when I found one with the options I wanted. It’s growing on me!
