the old timers here should remember me.

Anyway, still have AquaD, but after a hail storm last year, it's been re-named dimpled D.

Questions are as follows:

What class is the factory trailer hitch?

Have an opportunity to pick up a Chevy Lumina very cheap, but would need to tow it on a trailer about 500 miles, will my D with 4.7 and 3.92 handle this well?

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave! I'd asked a similar question recently, as I was getting ready to reserve my U-Haul for the move next month. Here's the reply that Joe Levy had posted:

"It's a Class III/IV hitch. Class III without weight distribution (usually limited to 500 lbs tongue weight) and Class IV (and 1000 lb tongue weight) with a weight distributing hitch."

**Disclaimer: I had asked specifically about my '99 5.9ltr SLT 4x4?not sure if there were any differences in the stock hitch over various years/engine sizes.**

Nice to hear from you! How have you been?

HTH,

Been fairly well. Busy though, kids are getting older and starting to think about cars for them, hence the cheap lumina.

Class III is what uhaul requires for a car hauler trailer, so I should be good on that score.

Do you all still do chat on Monday nights? I'll have to stop in and see if I recognize anyone.

Yep, chat still on every Monday night, same time. I haven't been able to participate in a while (been working late several nights a week, Monday being one of them) but I know Susie still stops in most Mondays.

If you do make it, say hi for me, k?

Thx!

Hiya Dave!!
Been a long time and we old timers have missed you!
Sorry hearing the hail caused damage to your D.
Take care
