When I didn't live in the city we used to use a barrel for our trash, except we burnt a lot. We used a pickaxe to put holes in the barrel and they held up pretty good, I think it was over a two year span. The holes helped with the heat/burning better during the winter and helped some with any paper products or flying ashes. We were always on hand though with a hose as, with 6 acres of open field as our backyard, it was something we wouldn't want going a little stray.
I don't know if this will work for you guys but I
lived here before moving into the city. It should be somewhat centered and my house is at the end of the loooong, looong, driveway- unpaved, gravel main road, only one close neighbor, only thing annoying was my mother's horses. I do miss it out there. That satellite photo was back when I had my Dodge Ram.
