I had the engine replaced a few months ago and just noticed this. The left side is connected to the frame. Any idea where the right side connects?
That looks like the 'ground strap', to keep the engine block adequately grounded to avoid damaging electronic components. Since your motor mounts are essentially rubber isolators, there is at least one of these on most engines. I'd try seeing what bolts it will easily reach without stretching it to much, and pick the one that seems to be the best ground. It may be right there on your alternator. Hope that helps.

It bolts to the “frame” to the left. The red painted part. There should be a stud that it bolts to.
