This recall ought to be a sign to someone up the Stellantis management chain!
The recall covers thousands of '24-'25 Hornet vehicles, because the brake pedal may COLLAPSE!!!
Collapse? What the hell is that? The remedy is for the dealer to "reinforce" and not replace said pedal.

I guess we all see how important stopping is in their minds.........................................
What will be next?????>

It's just like the Lexus uncontrolled acceleration.
There are two things that are basic to a car. Accelerating and braking. This "collapsing brake pedal" is an embarrassment, given the fact that it'll be 140 years in 2025 since the first car ever was built by Benz.

As I have said before, no one will want the Hornet. Now there's another reason.

Well the TSB is comforting!
Should this happen, the Electronic Park Brake, located
on the center console, can be pulled up and held while
driving to slow the vehicle to a controlled stop.
Additionally, the Automatic Emergency Braking
system, unless deactivated, will intervene without
further action from the driver when it detects a collision
is imminent.

This is the result of a disconnect between the c-suite and the people that actually design and manufacture cars. Leadership is trying to maximize the amount they take home while at the same time paying workers the least amount possible.

One thing I like about Japanese culture is shame and honor. We don't have this is America anymore. As an example in Japan whoever designed or allowed a major design flaw like this to go through could be ostracized depending on how public the issue became. In America, check in check out it's just another day in the office. Quality doesn't matter when nobody cares. Outsource everything to the turdworld.

Stellantis closing their Arizona proving grounds and will be using Toyota's proving grounds in Arizona.
I have no doubt Stellantis is getting ready to dump Mopar to the highest bidder or close it down if they can't sell.
Maybe the US will give more of our tax money to them like back in 2009 just so they don't go out of business and keeps 10s of thousands employed but for how long?
Maybe Elon will pull 15 billion out of his personal funds and buy Mother Mopar and junk it just to show EVs are the future. o_O

I have a 2014 Durango and a 2005 Tacoma. They're both good cars but the Durango has all kinds of little things that go wrong. It's a much heavier and more complicated car so it's not all Dodges fault. But I can see why people who aren't mechanically inclined would gravitate to the Tacoma. There's just a higher level of quality in the parts. Because of this little issues that are easily fixed on the Durango just don't happen on the Tacoma.

You can also see the differences in the overall design. Tacomas are intended to be serviced by their owners. The biggest example of this is that the oil filter is on top of the engine not on the bottom. This makes oil changes ridiculously easy to do. The hemis oil filter is on the bottom of the engine which I realize is partially because of tradition. But it makes changing the oil much more difficult than it needs to be. Little things like this are throughout.

The 5.7L is a fairly old (oops, classic) engine, so not apples/apples. The V6 has the filter on top IIRC, and my wife's last Lexus (overgrown Toyota) had that stupid cartridge filter under the engine which was a pain in the ass six ways to Sunday.

So, as always, YMMV...

The Hornet is a re-badged version of the Alfa Romeo Tonale. In the finest tradition of Italian cars, it's got problems, especially given that the Tonale/Hornet is a first-year vehicle. I've read that there have been a slew of software updates going out resolving many of the myriad problems. This sounds like a master cylinder failure???

No, from the TSB it looks like some mechanical issue on the pedal arm.. the fix, as far as I can tell, is to add a bolt. o_O

I noticed that thr Hornet was a rebadged Tonale as well. Didn't realize that it was a first year car. Why on earth would Dodge put all it's marbles in an Italian designed car? Italian cars have an earned history of looking pretty but falling apart mechanically.

Because Stellantis owns both companies and they call the shots.

Scary thought, but a good point, although the Jeep badge will be well sought after.

If I may, I would add a third basic thing: choosing a path aka steering ;)
