I haven't been able to find much on it, but I was always under the impression that with the body on frame platform, you could technically take a durango body and bolt it up to a dakota frame. My curiosity has gotten the best of me, and I was wondering if this was true, and if so, would I theoretically be able to take a 2001 dakota frame with coil over suspension, and put my D on it? Or even, would the upper and lower control arms fit?

You might be better off asking some off the wall question like this on a Dakota forum where it's more likely that someone wanted to put a Durango body on their own Dakota frame. I seriously doubt anyone here has tried to put a Dakota frame under a Durango. Maybe you can find some info from way back at AllPar.com, jalopnik.com or in old reviews of the two platforms to see if this is true.

I believe it is accurate to say that the Gen 1 Durango was based from the Dakota platform. Whether or not you can swap bodies or frames I can't say.

I believe Dakotas of that generation are 111.9, 123.9, or 131.0 inch wheel base.
Durango is 115.7 (or 115.9?)

So not likely to be a direct bolt-on.

Welcome to DDN.
Do you realize that the thread you have commented on has not been active in more than 2 years?
If you have a Durango, or other Dodge vehicle, expound upon that an introduce yourself.
