Just finished replacing all the shock absorbers on my 2007 DD 5.7 AWD SLT. I noticed that the lower mounting bolt of the front shock absorber was in bad shape and wanted to get a new OEM bolt and ran into a number of issues finding the correct mounting bolts (still not sure I have the correct one because while the threads/lengths match, the new bolt does not have the anti-cross thread end)
This is the image shown on Mopar:
Part #2 = 6506147AA (15mm) is listed as upper bolt in description (correct), but shown as lower bolt in illustration (incorrect because no integrated washer)
Part #17 = 6507098AA (18mm) is listed as lower bolt in description (correct), but shown as upper bolt in illustration (incorrect, because has washer and 5mm shorter)
Part #3 = 6512602AA used to secure the upper bolt
Here is the image comparison of the front shock lower bolt removed from the vehicle with the Mopar recommended lower bolt 6507098AA:
While the pitch of the threads, bolt head size, and length are the same, the washer is different (smaller). The original bolt is an anti-cross thread bolt, which is really useful in this particular application, but the new bolt is not anti-crossthread.
This is not a superseded part - if anyone knows what the actual part number of the lower bolt is, would appreciate it if you post it here.
Posting this for others who run into this bolt replacement issue. Here is the summary for the correct parts to use:
