'21 DDHC, threw a code on the highway last night with my wife driving. Completely lost power/limp mode. She pulled over immediately and we had it towed to my local dealer. Anyone have any experience or insight into this issue? I did some Googling and didn't find much that was helpful.

Thanks!!

Any chance she had a foot resting on the brake pedal at the same time as the throttle? Doing so will cause that error for sure. But I'm not sure if it will persist once you go back to single foot driving. Otherwise, it's not an error we see very often. Maybe there's actually something wrong.

Thank you for the response. I called and asked her, she was just cruising on the highway, definitely didn't recall brushing the brake pedal at all in that moment, and she is not a two footed driver.

The dealer really needs to look at the codes because the little lightning bolt alert could mean an issue beyond your TB meaning another sensor it depends on could have failed

Well, I will update this thread asap when I get any feedback from the dealership. I appreciate you taking the time to chime in. At least they are loaning me a '24 Citadel!

Wow, using a rare Citadel for a loaner? All I ever get is a subaru cheapy.

So I just picked up the loaner, great, all I could ask for. HOWEVER, they stated it may be up to 5 days before they can get the car in to diagnose it. Seems a little extreme to me... should they get it into the shop within a day or two to at least diagnose it so parts can be ordered etc?

Maybe I'm just not accustomed to the process and need a perspective readjustment.

Just tossing it out there....
They may be perceiving it as Warranty work and that seemingly always takes a back seat to paying customers/non warranty work. :(

I remember taking my SRT10 to a new SRT tech equipped dealer for an oil change.
The bat doors were opened so I can see this tech working on my truck.
Could have sworn it was going to fall off the lift it was on so wonky.
When he was done with under the truck he puts it on the ground and I see him add 5 quarts of some oil in a black plastic bottle, possibly Quaker State or something else.
He pulled it out into a parking spot and I asked what he did, he said see the service writer he is not allowed to talk to customers. WTF was that about. LOL

I go in and tell the service advisor what this tech did. The SW runs around gets the service manager and the huddle for a few minutes. he comes back to me and said, they will add 3 more quarts of oil. I said I paid for Mobil one and you put some crap in there, Drop it and give me what I paid for. Next thing I know, this tech comes out to talk to me about it, he was their senior tech. He said they never worked on an SRT10 Ram before and I said, so it is the Viper Engine which is the same exact as the one if the Viper. He says, oh ok, grabs the keys and does the proper oil and filter change and used 8 quarts of Mobil One.

So that was my story with an SRT tech equipped dealer.

I remember when the HEMIs came out and dealers were dumping 5 quarts in them when they have always taken 7 quarts. I love Dodge Dealers

If its any consolation , I had my 21 for maybe 6 weeks back when it was new, and was just toodling home and mine went into limp mode/ no power and all sorts of dash lights.I pulled off road and shut down restarted and operated fine. I pulled the code and it was indeed a TB sensor warning, but dufus me erased the code, and dealer found nothing wrong..that was like 20k miles ago...

The only thing I had them do was to better tape and secure the sensor connector and wires..on mine it looked like a 7 yo was on the line that day...

Just sorta spit-balling here, but I would hazard a guess that you have an intake valve which isn't closing. The compression loss would mean cylinder pressure is pushing back out thru the intake valve and causing the throttle error. My thinking is that loss of compression on the exhaust side shouldn't have anything to do with the throttle. Internal loss of compression would either pressurize the crank case or the cooling system. The question is WHY would the valve not close? Debris blocking it? Broken spring? Chewed up cam? Bent valve? Contact with the piston? This is starting to sound like a new engine. I hope it works out better than that. Keep the updates coming!

@ Hellephant:
Try 855-778-8326. for the SRT hotline.
At least it sounds like they are moving forward with it.
We have a fellow on a Charger forum with a '20 Scat pack that is under warranty, and a rod thru the oil pan. The Dealer has had it 8 weeks and counting, and every time he hears from them the story changes.

I hope you have better luck.

Don

Just got off the phone with the SRT case manager. Nothing substantial to report other than they are going to try and help me with rental reimbursement if it comes to that. I'm trying not to live at the dealership in order to see what's going on.

My wife almost tried to restart the V6 Citadel model while it was running, she can't hear the thing she said ;)

it will not harm the Citadel if she did that. For a long time now mopar as had protection against it.
