you're right, I don't. I have enough sense to spend $100k on something better than a Dodge Durango. There are any number of better options that are actually collectable. There's no chance that I'm going to pull up next to a mom with three kids driving the same basic car that I am but she paid half what I did. If you want to make yourself feel better about your poor financial choices by trying to talk down to me that's fine. But we drive the same car. You just paid way more so you could get worse mileage and greater depreciation.
And yet here you are trolling the SRT/HC section. Guess that makes YOU feel better about your choice. Enjoy!!!

I'm very happy with my choice. It fits my needs perfectly and I don't feel like I got taken for a ride because a mass producer of vehicles decided to make more of the vehicle I bought. I didn't buy a mass produced vehicle thinking it would be rare and special one day and that I could take someone for a financial ride on Bring A Trailer. The fact is you think you are better because you spent $50k more to buy the same car I did. Then you want to whine because you found out that its not as special as you thought. The only difference in the Durango I drive and the one you drive is the engine, the gas mileage, and how much you paid. They even have the same rate of depreciation. Maybe you should just accept that you didn't buy a collectors item, you bought an SUV that's mass produced and built on a 13 year old Mercedes chassis design. Its just a Durango, not a 1970 Hemi Cuda. I'll check back in a month and see how much more whining you've done.

Oh yeah, they are practically the same except for this, the transmission, the brakes, the suspension………………….
Oh and BTW, get your product lines straight, Soccer Mom’s drive Pacificas. View attachment 131428
I drive the Tow N Go R/T. I have the same brakes, suspension, and transmission as a Hellcat. And, soccer moms drive anything with 3 rows.

@taholman

You absolutely do not have the same transmission as the hellcat.

And I don't think anyone here thinks the DDHC is a collectors car. It's still a massed produced vehicle, just the coolest trim you can get.

It IS a special car, and that's why I bought it. It does everything I need a daily to do, including putting a smile on my face every time I hear the supercharger whine.

Is it over the top and ridiculous, yes, but if I can have it, why wouldn't I want it?

You can't sit there and bash on it and claim your TowNGo is in the same league of performance.

And if I ever see a soccer mom driving one of these, then they clearly have the best taste in Durango trim. Not sure why you're hating on moms either, they're the reason you are around to troll on the Internet in the first place.

No, you do not have the same brakes, no you do not have the same transmission. At least you understand that the engines are different. The way that you could understand what it is like to drive a Hellcat, would be to actually own or borrow one. I have driven a TNG R/T, and know what they drive like. Stay in your lane.

Where exactly did you see me whine about buying a HC? The only whine I ever experienced with my HC was from the supercharger. So, I really have no idea what you're talking about.
You've got issues, my man. Keep at it though.
I'm glad you're happy with your choice. Now, what exactly is your point of coming on here and criticizing others who are also happy with their choice?
Not to mention that you type a lot of words and think you sound smart. But the more you type the more ignorant you appear to everyone else.

As holy as thou are…. the brakes are not exactly the same unless you’re only looking at calipers and the transmission is different. I’m not sure what your point is overall though…? Do you want me to say you have the same vehicle I do for some kind of validation?

I feel compelled to comment on this. I too believe the SRT tranny is completely different from that in the R/T TNG. We are blessed to have recently traded a 23 TNG for a 23 SRT 392, and one of the first things I noticed when driving the SRT was the tranny.

The tranny in our SRT DD performs just like the trannys we had in our Scat Packs - super sensitive to input, kicks down immediately when you floor it, and intuitively holds gears longer when driving in a sporty manner, even in the default drive mode. I really missed that performance when we sold our Scat Packs, and I'm so thankful to have it back now with the SRT DD.

When we had the TNG, even in sport mode, it just wouldn't provide the input response like we enjoyed in our Scat Packs. If I noticed this drastic of a difference in the SRT 392 DD, I can only imagine what the tranny must be like in HC DDs.

Re all the comments on the performance DDs looking like the basic ones that soccer moms drive, personally I freaking LOVE that I can kind of hide or be the gray man in traffic if I choose to not to get on the throttle.

Sure, it's nice to have a visual show stopper if that's your thing -hell, I'd love a C8 or Lambo - but I too bought ours to drive and enjoy, with the least amount of drama possible in traffic and when out and about.
