This is operating from the dash control correct? What do you have the rear roof mounted far left knob set to when this happens?

So, never figured this out, and I got a date with the dealership next week to have a few other things addressed. Might as well have them do this while I still have my bumper to bumper warranty! Again, thanks for all the help guys. I’ll post up here what the dealer says the issue was.

Stox:
When you said 90+k on the D, and made no mention of an extended warranty, my assumption was that your D was no longer under warranty. It was your call of course, but when warranty is at hand, I let the dealer take care of it.

Keep us posted if you would on how things turn out.

New rear heater core and I have heat in the back!

Dealer took care of that along with the fuel filler neck issue. New tank and new filler next. However, now my fuel gauge won’t read F. I’m 95% sure it’s full.

They didn't do the pump too? That is the cause of the misread of the fuel level.

Unless it comes with the fuel tank, I’ll have to check the write out from the dealer and see if that was replaced with it. But it went in reading fine. Comes back with new parts and doesn’t lol.

The new tank likely comes sans pump, but it sounds like they screwed up the install. They should drop the tank, and make this right on their dime, not yours.

100%. I called them and they said to bring it back. Hopefully they still have the loaner they gave me. If not, I’ll have to come back when they do. Got 3 kids. Gotta have a vehicle that fits 3 car seats! lol

Yeah, so I just got the Durango back. They had it for about a week and a half. I had a slew of problems when it left then first time. Rough idle, check engine light, auto stall/stop didn’t work, keyless entry didn’t work, found a machine screw, and the rear seat headrests wouldn't drop. I googled the keyless entry thing and found an unplugged connector.
When I brought it back and listed the issues, they were super receptive and, as expected, fixed everything without hassle. Rough idle was cracked lower intake (presumably from then they removed it repairing an oil leak from when I brought it up originally), found where the screw went, and found a loose connector for the headrests.
I had a loaner the whole time, so that was nice. All in all, the Durango is back to 100% lol. Figured I would follow up and close out the thread.

Very nice result. You should share the name of that good dealer as there aren't many around any longer.

Yeah, it was time consuming, and the biggest inconveniences were driving to the dealer and switching car seats a few times, but I had a good amount of work completed for 100 bucks (thank you bumper to bumper warranty).

Yeah, I feel like I’ve read a lot of stuff back and forth on this, including no heat ever goes to the top, only the floor. But after the dealer had it and did the rear heater core, I have heat going to the top vents.

I also can feel heat from my tops.
