All joking aside on the TNG & SRT package option price of tea in China... the reality is someone will pay "Big $ Bucks" for the exclusivity of having a limited-edition vehicle. Even if it is a decal or interior stitching variation, people like having different things... And some, not all have more money than brains and will automatically buy it sight unseen not understanding what they just purchased is nothing more than a re-badged vehicle with cool plaque on the dash as bragging rights.

Have any of you seen those 1988 Bill Blass edition Lincoln MKVII or how about the 2003-2005 Presidential Edition Mercury Grand Marquis... I am not saying this will not be worth anything 30-50 years from now, but again reality check here... the DD HC will probably be the unicorn especially if it's a limited production run (i.e., rare color combination, stripper delete, etc.) and the example is pristine and super low milage.

Heck, I have even seen local dealers put decals and pinstripes on some random vehicle and call them "Limited or Special Edition" and people buy them up like they were signed by Carroll Shelby himself. In reality, they are worthless!

OK I made a Durango Last Call Wishlist, obviously I don't expect any of these to be built --

Durango Hellcat Redeye

Durango SRT 392 Shaker

Durango R/T 6MT RWD

Durango Super Lightweight, with 2nd and 3rd row delete (j/k) Edit -- I forgot that had already been done, by a member either here or other forum.

If they made a DDHCRE my mind would be blown.
Not holding my breath of course.

I can't think of a single performance upgrade component they have laying on the parts shelf, that they seem so desperate to empty.

My take we will see an SRT 392 close to 100k with this package and dealer mark up for some stickers and caliper paint.
You will then see a TnG with the same options which will put it close to 80k.
These are my guesses and my opinion.
I agree, as crazy as it may seem to some. When we recently got our DD392, the dealer told us essentially the same thing with regard to the 392s increasing as the year goes on.

My Dealer has a SRT HC Durango Premium in Night Moves, all options. $110,390.
I would love the job that the person who buys that has.. LOL
Either that I "lose" my wife. bwhwhhahahahah

LOL .. it's not about the job you have, but what you do with the money your current job provides.

Compound interest is a beautiful thing! :) Teach it to your kids. $100 each month into a mutual fund investment, over the course of 30 years, will cost you a total of $36k over that 30 years but net you at least $225k in returns ... More like $300k if you have an investment advisor worth his salt who can achieve an average of 12% return. And if it's in a Roth, it's all completely tax free.

Unfortunately, living below your means in order to grow wealth through investments has become rare in our materialistic society. Keeping up with the Jones' by accruing debt is more the norm these days :(

That is me. While not frugal with my money, I've been looking towards retirement and I am saving/investing enough money to live as I do now.
I do wish I have more bitcoins. When I got in the 1st one was 8k the second one was 4k. 12k investment and worth almost 100k now. With BTC an ETF now, I am hoping it will climb to 100K a coin.(or higher) But that is for another thread. LOL

They barely got the hellcat to pass for 2023 (remember it wouldn’t pass for 2022), I think a redeye version wouldn’t pass no matter how hard they tried.

That's why i couldn't justify the HC any longer. $110k and I can't even get mirrors that fold!!!

That’s a running joke my neighbor has…. His 50k F150 has folding mirrors and my DDHC doesn’t. Honestly it’s not the end of the world as nothing I’ve ever owned has had folding mirrors but at the price tag it should have had them.

the only vehicle I’ve had with automatic folding mirrors was the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve, and we never used them even a single time.

Maybe I’m missing something, but in what scenarios is this feature useful?

Tight parking lots.

I back the Durango into my garage and try to get as close to the side wall as possible, to allow more space for the other car. So every time, I have to get out, and manually fold the passenger mirror.

When I exit the garage, I almost always forget to unfold it, then have to stop the car, get out, endure the 3 honks from the security system, and unfold the mirror. Manual mirrors are more of a pain than I would have imagined.

Just a "quality of life" issue.

It is definitely a nice option to have and for a big SUV should be standard as Tin Foil stated for tight parking spots.

FYI Here in S. FL some juvenile car thieves will troll affluent neighborhoods looking for high-end cars with their mirrors in the regular out position. 90% of the time the vehicles are unlocked and the fobs are in the center console or glove box. Easy to start and joy ride…

Moral of the story… if you do have a vehicle with auto-close side mirrors make sure they are programmed when you lock the car they fold in. Lol
