I have to agree with the positive for R/T Tow N Go Group on this. a R/T with TNG and SPORT or TRACK enabled is extremely fun to drive. it may lack the raw horsepower of a SRT but that is the only thing a TNG lacks.

and while @JC Hemi is correct that the extra weight is the enemy of pure speed, the benefits of the extra weight of the TNG package are WELL worth it. Adaptive Suspension? Electronic Limited Slip rear dif? Brembo brakes? SPORT and TRACK modes? well worth any loss of pure straight line speed for that extra weight. I tow maybe 5% of the time I drive my R/T TNG and the TNG package is well worth the extra $5k or so I paid for it.

RT Plus has a sport mode, although I didn't see a track mode.

@desert heat the TRACK mode is a SRT item, so only the SRT and TNG have that option. on a TNG you have 4 pre set drive modes TRACK, SPORT, TOW, SNOW. a SRT will also let you create a Custom Drive Mode.

a R/T Tow N Go is essentially a SRT with the 'regular' 5.7L HEMI and no Custom Drive mode. otherwise its a SRT mechanically. and your car insurance is rated like a standard R/T so no SRT upcharge.

and the exhaust sound is the icing on the cake. a R/T TNG sounds nice from the factory.

Could not agree more. At the time I ordered my TNG, I could not justify the $15K premium for the SRT, let alone $30K in today’s market

Coming from a Ram 1500 with the 5.7 that has more hp and tq than the 5.7 in the Durango, i was surprised at how much more fun the 6.4 in the SRT is with only 100ish more hp. Salesman tried to talk me into an RT tow n go but I’m really glad i held out for the SRT. Supercharger on the RT would be fun for sure but I’d be a little concerned about warranty and just general niggling issues with aftermarket stuff…..

The 5.7 is not set up for long term survival with a supercharger. If the SRT is too rich, as stated the next best option is the 5.7 R/T with the tow and go package. Then swap in the SRT diffs which are 3.70's in place of the 3.09's and you'll feel like you picked up 50 hp.

I recently ordered a Whipple supercharger for our 2023 R/T Premium TnG ... you can read my story here:

If you tow a lot, it was probably a good investment.
The Tow & Go package is not a "Tow" package, but is a performance package. Dodge should not have named the package "Tow & Go", as it confuses folks. IMO, it should have been called "SRT Lite", or similar ...

i was wondering why the r/t plus's aren't equipped with a more sporty sounding exhaust, but i guess that's easy enough to do yourself.
The "Plus" package is really just an appearance and comfort thing. There's no added performance items in "Plus" or "Premium". The exhaust which comes factory on the Tow & Go is phenomenal! Here's a clip of my wife casually leaving the driveway in ours.

Not my intention. I was simply making the OP aware of the fact that the higher end Dodge performance vehicles are sought after by miscreants. The overall percentage is likely not huge, but if it's your car, it matters.
I'd wager that where one lives has am impact on the odds. I have seen a number of posts here and on the Charger forum I frequent mention that they would like to own a higher line model, but won't because they do not have a secure place to put it.

Your landscape so to speak may be different up north.

I want to say when I first started to look in 2021 the difference between a Tow n Go and a SRT was closer to only $10,000 'ish' in difference and has grown ever since.. There was more flexibility in how to option it, more 'a la carte' combinations to achieve a better price per what you wanted as to where you are now locked into a group of features and increased pricing tiers. I was certainly on the fence on buying an SRT at that time, I understand the dilemma.

I've owned a couple R/T's and now I own an SRT...It's a different animal for sure. Whether it's worth the $$ depends on you and your situation. I don't regret it for a minute, but I was able to order a '22 with minimal options and get it for well under $70k out the door so for me, it was worth it (instead of buying or leasing another R/T).

ALSO...The SRT also comes with 3.70 gears, which always seems to get missed in these R/T vs SRT debates.

TNG is basically all SRT components, including great suspension, minus engine. HP tuners PCM upgrade for $1,100, pro tune on a dyno, Pedal Commander throttle delay delete, and you will feel like you have SRT+. At least that's my personal experience.

It's amazing, though -- the Chrysler 300S 5.7L can be had at dealers around $46-48k sticker, while the 300C (SRT version) can be had at dealers for about $55-56 sticker. Not as much difference but probably not getting as much extra tech, etc.

This may explain the current prices..

Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram Prices Have Risen 50% in 5 Years
car price inflation
This make sense. The hottest sellers are the highest increases Hyundai/Kia are selling faster then any other brand out there. Dodge/Jeep/Ram is also selling really well (until lately)
So Stellantis decided to go the route of high volume = higher prices as opposed to higher volume = price suppression.

What is Stellantis spending all the revenue on, I think salaries have ballooned for the C-level execs.
